Musk Accepts Ukrainian advice to eff-off
Responding to Elon Musk's proposal to end the Ukraine war based on an internationally supervised plebiscite in the Russia annexed Oblasts to determine how and by whom they will be ruled, Ukrainian diplomat, Andrij Melnyk's, said:
Fuck off is my very diplomatic reply to you
Which suggests little confidence in the Ukrainian capital, in the love of their former subjects.
Moreover, it hardly suggests much diplomatic sense in Keeve, as we now call it, since Musk has taken Melnyk's advice and ceased to provide Ukraine's armed forces with free Starlink communication services.

That is as predicted.
Competent experts knew at the outset that the vax would:
- Create asymptomatic cases that would spread the virus because the vaccines do not prevent infection and transmission;
- Induce production of antigen-specific antibodies that are more or less ineffective on new variants;
- Induce “viral immune escape,” by creating conditions for the production of new variants.

The rhetoric's not bad.
But what's she gonna do to make it happen?
Cutting taxes on bankers, doctors, upper level bureaucrats, and corporate exectives won't alter the fact that Britain has too many people without a clue, with no useful education and little interest in exerting themselves beyond shopping for junk food, watching TV and boozing down the pub.
Plus, for some reason, they fanatically support foreign-owned soccer teams largely dependent on foreign players, which unaccountably play under the name of British cities.
Or maybe Truss does have the right idea. Cut taxes on the productively employed while cutting benefits for the poor and unemployed will provide todays's underclass the incentive identical to that which drove the working class of the last century to pursue self-improvement.
That incentive?
Poverty.
Trouble is, though, that for an increasing proportion of ordinary folk of modest ability, however sensible they may be, the modern economy has no need. Elon's robot, however goofy, is a warning of what's to come: machines smarter than humans, able to work 24/7 at a cost below the minimum wage.
Make Elon Musk your hero if you like, but remember, he's the model of the modern entrepreneur, a man intent on making your very existence superfluous.

From CanSpeccy, Good-bye
Not much point in a blog with no one to read it. Until the day before yesterday, stats provided by Google's blogger indicated we have, in recent days, had a few hundred people visititng most days, with a peak of 2209 on the 6th of August this year, and a total of more than a million over the life of the blog.
However, the day before yesterday, Google took CanSpeccy offline, allegedly because we had engaged in hate speach. However, no example of such speach was offered. We, therefore, appealed the decision and CanSpeccy was apparently made available again, at least to us, with again, no explanation offered.
Now, however, virtually no one is visiting the Canspeccy blog. So obviously no point in posting any more. Furthermore, as I am now embarked on my eightieth year, it is perhaps as well to turn my mind to more serious matters than the idiotic comments of Justin Trudeau, or the more absurd contentions of university professors. So those who've visited from time to time in the past, all the best and thank you for stopping by.

Justin Trudeau, Our Idiot Premier, Talks About the Threat of Russian Attack
Two things Justin:
First, is it not idiotic, having sent heavy artillery and ammo to Ukraine with which the Ukrainians are even now surely killing Russians, to depend for our defense against Russia -- our closest neighbor after the United States -- on snow and ice?
Second, if we are to promote lethal hostility against Russia, why do we have no military capacity on the ground in the Arctic to face the Russian threat? A Northern Regiment, equipped for combat under Arctic conditions would not only provide Canada with actual defensive capacity, but provide a significant economic stimulus to Northern development.
But sadly, logic is not within our leader's grasp. Posture and platitude, face-paint and fatuity are all that Trudeau has to offer.

Ritter, Mercouris and Diesen: A Breaking Point in the Ukraine War?
What is evident from the comments of the likes of Scott Ritter and Colonel Douglas McGregor, both highly experienced and distinguished military men, is how radically what they say conflicts with mainstream media reports on the war. Thus, for example, Ritter estimates Ukrainian losses at eighty thousand killed--a number equal to the total armed forces of the United Kingdom, whereas Western media accepts Ukraine's claim of only eighteen thousand killed. This difference is of profound significance. If Ukraine's claim of 18,000 dead, and assuming ten wounded for every soldier killed, then Ukraine has suffered grievously, but is still well able to continue the battle. But if Ritter is correct, and again assuming ten wounded for every soldier killed, then almost the whole of Ukraine's original army has been nullified. With such discrepancies in reportage, the general public cannot possibly form a realistic idea of what is happening in Ukraine.

Globalists discuss their plans to exterminate all humans
Scientists, doctors and researchers who questioned or challenged the CDC’s assertions were blocked across social media and accused of spreading “misinformation.” Many have lost their jobs or had their license threatened. Now, the CDC is silently retracting “settled science” they once demanded the public worship. The CDC quietly altered its website, acknowledging that the mRNA and the spike proteins persists in the body for an extended duration of time. The CDC also admitted that there is no logical reason to treat vaccinated people differently than unvaccinated people because both can readily contract and transmit coronavirus variants. Even worse, the vaccine subverts the initial surveillance immune cells, leading to a weakened immune response.
An animal so lost in rapturous contemplation of what he thinks he is as to overlook what he indubitably ought to be. His chief occupation is extermination of other animals and his own species, which, however, multiplies with such insistent rapidity as to infest the whole habitable earth and Canada.
Ed. Note: In speaking of "an animal so lost in rapturous contemplation of what he thinks he is "Bierce might have been thinking of Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, although Canadians are not multiplying with rapidity, or even at all. Rather, they are dying faster than they are being born with the fertility rate falling ever further below the replacement rate since the government of the current Prime Minister's father removed effective legal restrictions on abortion.
Since then, the Canadian population has been maintained and increased only as the result of mass immigration, the rate of which now exceeds the birthrate by a factor of 50% (450,000 immigrants per year versus 300,000 live births).
In effect, Canada has an exterminationist policy toward its own people, who are being progressively replaced by immigrants who will, presumably, themselves be made more or less infertile to be replaced in their turn by other immigrants.
Canadians are, thus, merely replaceable units of economic production, regarded by the ruling elite as of no value in themselves or, therefore, worthy of representation in all future generations.

America the Depraved
By Larry Johnson
The Gateway Pundit, August 17, 2022: After 8 years of arming and training Ukraine’s army and air force, spending billions of tax payer dollars, the United States no longer has a viable strategy to defeat the Russian forces and compel Vladimir Putin to accept a humiliating defeat. Yes, the U.S. and NATO are pouring a large amount of HIMARS, Army Tactical Missile Systems (aks ATACMS), tanks, vehicles and aircraft into the fight, but this is only prolonging the inevitable surrender of Ukraine. Worse, it is poisoning any chance of restoring normal relations with Russia.Readers younger than fifty have little or no memory of the Cold War. During the 45 year period after World War II (1945-1990), the United States and the Soviet Union fought each other in proxy wars–Vietnam, Angola, Nicaragua and Afghanistan were major battlegrounds. Yet, despite the fighting and spying by each side in their respective efforts to subvert the other, the United States and the Soviet Union kept diplomatic channels open and succeeded in reaching critical nuclear weapons disarmament treaties. Both sides realized that a nuclear war would be a nightmare neither was likely to survive.
When the Soviet Union collapsed, the United States took a victory lap. But instead of promoting policies to help restore the Russian economy, western entrepreneurs, with the willing help of Russian oligarchs, succumbed to greed and tried to loot Russia of its critical oil, gas and mineral deposits. A number of American capitalists and politicians made money off of that. Russia was still a nuclear power, but western leaders calculated they could bully Moscow without fear of retribution.
Throughout the period from 1990 to February 24, 2022, there were still people in the Russian political leadership who believed that negotiations with the United States and Europe was a viable option. That is no longer the case. Whether the United States and Europe want to believe it, the Russian leaders and people now believe that the west poses an existential threat to them and they will do what is necessary to defend themselves and survive.
I am old enough to remember a time when the freedom of the press and freedom of speech set the United States apart as a special place. American culture and economic prowess was something that many in Russia and the rest of the world envied. But that was then.
When foreigners now consider the state of America they see something radically different. Freedom of the press and freedom of speech are now under regular, sustained attack directed at Christians and conservatives. I remember when the Soviets labeled dissidents as terrorists. Now, America’s own Department of Justice is doing the same to parents opposed to critical race theory and outraged over their daughters being asked to shower with males who claim they are female. Many U.S. citizens who entered the Capitol on January 6th at the invitation of U.S. Capitol Police, were arrested and incarcerated without charges being brought. A clear violation of the 6th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution:
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence. Many of those arrested are being held without access to legal counsel for more than a year. That is not speedy. But the Biden Administration justifies this because it labels these citizens as “terrorists” and “insurrectionists.” In the aftermath of 9-11, the American public has been anesthetized to ignore the Constitution in order to punish terrorists.
American culture is now awash with filth. Child pornography, pedophilia and transgenderism is being touted as normal. Anyone who dares challenge these things as abnormal are tagged as racists and hatemongers. Comedians like Dave Chappelle are attacked physically and verbally for daring to ridicule a testosterone laden man who insists he is a woman that can get pregnant and have a menstrual cycle. Most people in the world, not just Russians, see this and can only conclude that the United States is in the grip of mass psychosis.
In the aftermath of the horrors of World War II, the United States eschewed exterminating its enemies–Germany and Japan–and helped rebuild those societies. Let me posit a hypothetical. Let’s suppose that Ukraine, through some miracle, defeats Russia and retakes all of the territory in Ukraine. Do you think that the Biden Administration or the people of the United States would be willing to treat a defeated Russia as it did Japan? I do not think so.
And that is the point. The Russians do not think so either. The previous perception of America as a potentially benevolent partner is dead. Kaput. When Russia secures its victory in Ukraine–regardless of how much time and bloodshed is required to achieve that end–it will be committed to building global relations that exclude the United States. The era of the United States as the supreme military and economic power in the world is over.
I am an American patriot. I love this country and what it is supposed to stand for. But the actions of the Biden Administration are weakening dramatically the U.S. economy and military. The weapon systems that are flooding into Ukraine are being destroyed by Russia or sold on the black market by Ukrainian profiteers. I fear that when the war in Ukraine is settled that the United States will have burnt all bridges that could have led to a reconciliation with Russia. I hope I am wrong.
The vast majority of Americans trust no one now, and largely for very good reason. Americans have been openly betrayed by politicians in all political parties, every news outlet, the social media CEOs, church leaders, “patriot” group leaders, Hollywood, and due to COVID, even their friends and family, all of it one great big “cancel culture” designed to divide and conquer the USA. If you don’t buy into their blatant lies, or participate in their mass divisions, you’re a conspiracy theorist or domestic terrorist, maybe both.

Will Biden Stumble into a New World War?
By Colonel Douglas MacGregor
American Conservative, August 9, 2022: In 1979, President Carter formally abandoned the 1954 Mutual Defense Treaty with Taiwan. Carter’s action abruptly ended Washington’s commitment to defend Taiwan against attack from the Chinese mainland. Yet, in an answer to a journalist’s question about whether he would use military force in response to a Chinese invasion of Taiwan, President Biden stated, “Yes, that's what we are committed to.”
When it comes to defense and foreign policy, there are very few stone-cold realists in Washington’s policy-making circles. Since 1945, with a few notable exceptions, most American presidents have tended to put short-term political celebrity or ephemeral liberal causes ahead of tangible, concrete national interests in America’s relations with other nation-states. Biden is no exception to the rule.
Guided more by impulse and emotion than reason or knowledge of the facts, President Biden, like most of Washington’s ruling political class, may be privately pleased with Speaker Pelosi’s visit to Taipei. When Speaker Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan is viewed in the context of Biden's self-evidently thoughtless remark, however, it is clear that the combination is having a negative impact across Asia.

As the World's New Number One Bully, Is China Paving the Way to World War
Nancy Pelosi makes a private -- which is to say non-official -- visit to Taiwan, and China has gone ape. China has surrounded Taiwan with warships engaged in live-fire exercises, while sending warplanes to invade Taiwan's airspace.
Could any country have a more ridiculous excuse for such outrageous behavior?
Yet Western media and many pundits are wittering on about Nancy Pelosi endangering world peace.
No, it is China that is endangering world peace.
China has offered precisely zero reason to believe that Pelosi's Taiwan trip, in her capacity as a private citizen, constituted a threat to Chinese national security. In the absence of such a threat, China's reaction amounts to a threat of an unprovoked invasion of an independent nation, the ultimate war crime.
But perhaps Pelosi's visit was instigated as a US-devised trap for a paranoid China. If China acts on its threat to invade Taiwan, then NATO will have the justification it may want for war on China.
Which raises the question: why would the West, meaning the United States and its most sycophantic NATO allies such as Britain and Germany, want war with China.
For two reasons.
First, while China is rising in industrial output, scientific and technological capacity, military might, and national self-confidence, the West declines, meaning that war now is better than war later.
Second, war with China could reverse the trends in social development not only in the West but in China too.
How could war with China, hurt China while being the cure for Western decline?
Through an inevitable ban on trade with China, as a result of which:
1. China loses much of its huge export market for manufactured goods, this resulting in widespread unemployment and social unrest in an economy already suffering from an imploding real estate bubble.
2. The US and other post-industrial states experience widespread shortages and huge increases in the cost of manufactured goods. The unavailability of cheap Chinese products reverses many detrimental social changes of recent decades. The resulting boom in domestic manufacturing will create millions of decently paid jobs, which together with a huge increase in the cost of living, while raising the incentive for working people to acquire useful job skills as a prerequisite to decently paid employment.
Whether these changes would sufficiently tip the balance in war to the advantage of the West, is impossible to know. However, without a restoration of its industrial base, the West is surely doomed to both economic and military eclipse by China.
There is, obviously, no logical reason why reform in the West should be contingent on war with China. But there are powerful social forces that, short of some catalyzing event such as a major war, will continue to resist rational economic and social development in the West. These malevolent influences include:
1. Great Western corporations that have profited massively by offshoring labor services from the West to China and other developing nations. These include a remarkably large proportion of the best known Western manufacturing names. For example, Ford, GM, IBM, Microsoft, Intel, Boeing, and many, many more. Even famous craft industries have been off-shored, Ireland's Waterford Glass to Indonesia being among them, along with England's Wedgewood pottery.
2. Expansion of so-called higher education to accommodate a substantial fraction of the population including, inevitably, many of below average academic potential. Along with this reduction in the average intellectual competence of the academy's student intake has occurred a massive dilution in the competence of the teaching staff. Today, instead of a small group of low paid and dedicated professionals, universities are largely staffed by second-, third-, and fourth-rate, overpaid, alleged scholars whose research pursuits amount in a vast number of cases to little more than piffle, often degenerating into anti-intellectual politically correct or woke rubbish with which to poison the minds of youth.
3. The growth of public services, such as Britain's grotesque National Health Service with over a million employees, which serve less the public than its employees and administrators at the expense of the public.
4. The adaptation of political party platforms in Western democracies to attract the public service vote, with the consequence that employees of Western governments have a political stranglehold that prevents any reform is of what are mostly bloated, unproductive and often socially harmful bureaucratic establishments.
So what do you want? More Bido-, Trudo-, or BoJo-led pseudo-democracy or, Heaven forbid, some monster like Trump who might shake up and pare down our great parasitic bureaucracies and corrupt educational establishments, while punishing unpatriotic industrial corporations once synonymous with Western industrial greatness.

Curious Inconsistencies in Reports of the Sandy Hook School Shooting
U.S. conspiracy theorist Alex Jones must pay the parents of a 6-year-old boy killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook massacre $45.2 million in punitive damages - on top of $4.1 million in compensatory damages already awarded - for falsely claiming the shooting was a hoax, a Texas jury decided on Friday.
So there you are, the Sandy Hook School massacre of December 14, 2012 really happened.
But then what is one to make of the report of an interview with Sandy Hook School Principal, Dawn Hochsprung, which was published on the Web site of the local newspaper, The NewTown Bee, and in which it was stated that:
"Sandy Hook School Principal Dawn Hochsprung told The Bee that a masked man entered the school with a rifle and started shooting multiple shows [sic] – more than she could count – that went "on and on."This is bizarre for two reasons.

One Thing the United States Got Right: Taiwan Does Not Belong to China
China claims Taiwan to be a part of its sovereign territory. But that's bunk. A sovereign nation has a defined territory with a single government. But Taiwan and China are distinct territories each with its own government. Therefore Taiwan cannot be part of the sovereign state of China.
Furthermore, there is no reason to believe that the majority of the people of the sovereign nation of Taiwan wish to merge with China and become subordinate to the government in Beijing. That being the case, Taiwan is absolutely entitled to host anyone it wants on its territory, even including Nancy Pelosi, and even if she was wearing that hideous pink pajama suit. For China to threaten the sovereignty of Taiwan because an American politician has visited the island is preposterous.
It is equally preposterous for China to challenge the legitimacy of the Government of Taiwan. Rather it is the Government of Taiwan that has grounds to challenge the legitimacy of the Government of China. China's Communist government was established by insurrectionists in receipt of military aid from Joe Stalin's Soviet Union. The Communist insurgents led by the brutal dictator-to-be, Mao Tse Tung, expelled Chiang Kai -Shek's Nationalist Government from the Chinese mainland. The Nationalists were, however, able to retain a foothold on the formerly Chinese island of Taiwan. So if a question is to be raised about the legitimacy of government, it is clearly the Communist government of China that is illegitimate, and the Government of Taiwan that is the embodiment of a legitimate government of mainland China.
The American Government is right: China should keep its greedy hands off Taiwan. At the same time, China should also get its hands off both Tibet and Xinjiang, where it now pursues a vicious policy of ethnic cleansing. The former independent sovereign state of Tibet is the homeland of the Tibetan people, and Xinjiang is the homeland of the Uyghur people, a Turkic race, many of them blue-eyed and fair-haired, quite unrelated to the Han people of China.
