We Are On the Verge of Nuclear Annihilation

By Paul Craig Roberts

We are on the verge of nuclear annihilation. Every agreement made during the 20th century to reduce the risk of nuclear war has been abandoned by Washington. Why worry, some ask, mutual assured destruction means neither the US nor Russia would initiate a nuclear attack. Perhaps not, but the greatest danger of nuclear armageddon comes from false alarms from warning systems. During the Cold War there were many such alarms. The false alarms did not result in mutual destruction because both governments were working to defuse, not exacerbate, the situation, and there was time for the validity of the alarm to be verified before a fatal pushing of the button.

Today the situation is entirely different. Washington and the NATO puppets have a policy of provoking Russia, with the 2014 coup in Ukraine and its consequences being the worst to date. Moreover, the hypersonic speeds of the Russian missiles and the closeness of US missiles to Russia’s border cuts time before impact to 5 or 10 minutes, which means no time to verify or confer.

The extraordinary insulting hostility shown toward Russia by the US, NATO and the Western media has convinced the Kremlin that the West intends Russia’s destruction. Russia’s President Putin has stated many times that the West has led him to this conclusion. A couple of days ago at the Valdai Discussion Club Putin expressed concern that the West’s belligerence toward Russia could end in nuclear war. If President Biden were a responsible leader, he would have said that the Russian president is right, and we must stop the escalation of threats. Instead, Biden sent B-2 stealth bombers, aircraft specifically designed for a nuclear first-strike, to European bases, thus escalating the threat, a mindless and irresponsible response to President Putin.

Cluster Bombs: The Ideal Weapon for Ukraine's Genocidal War with Russia

The US has decided to send controversial cluster munitions to Ukraine in aid of its counteroffensive against Russian forces

For some reason Canada and the UK are expressing concern over Long-Gone Biden's decision to provide Ukraine with cluster bombs -- old unreliable stuff -- for use in its war on Ukraine's ethnic Russian population.

Trudeau in Nazi Azov uniform
But why?

Cluster bomblets that remain lethal for days, months and years after delivery and are likely to be found and picked up by children with often lethal consequences, make for the ideal genocidal weapon.

And it is a war of genocide. The Jew Zelensky's government in Keeve sent Nazis to Eastern Ukraine to kill those bastard Donbas Russians. Since the intended occupation of Donbas and massacre failed to occur as planned, littering the ground of the Donbas with explosive bomblets is clearly the next best option.

But being faux liberals, Canada's Trudeau and Britain's Hindu premier, seek to camauflage their support for Nazism in Ukraine by expressing faux horror at the use of munitions that kill kids.

Trump says officials are lying about the true death toll in Ukraine

So much for that, then. Evidently Poop Murdoch and Fix News don't want folks to see that Trump is back on form and funnier than before. What's more, Trump did say that the US administration is lying about the true death toll in Ukraine which is much higher than being reported. He also explained rather well how he'd end the war overnight.

Meantime, here's an update on the war:

BoJo, the First Ukranian-Nazi-Backing Western Leader to Fall: Who Next?

Was UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, a US-Deep-State plant, courtesy of MI6? Johnson's father, Stanley Johnson worked for  MI6, Britain's secret intelligence service, and it is doubtful whether an agent of the secret intelligence service is ever released from the obligation to serve.

That Boris Johnson's father owes allegiance to the British security services does not make Boris Johnson a secret agent, but it certainly adds plausibility to that possibility. And whether linked directly or indirectly with MI6, one could expect of Johnson great deference to the American security state.

It is not surprising, therefore, that Boris Johnson has been the most aggressive among European leaders in following the American line in providing support, both financial and political, to Ukraine's Nazi-directed and genocidally Russophobic government in the ongoing war with Russia.

Meantime, Johnson did essentially nothing for the working class voters whose support he won at the general election. The millions of working class voters in poor North Eastern constituencies who most likely for the one and only time in their lives cast a vote for the Conservatives, have gained nothing from the Johnson government other than a 2.5% increase in their National Insurance contributions and the promise of a high speed rail connection to London -- if it isn't cancelled due to cost overruns.

Which raises the question, which other Western leaders displays this Johnsonian pattern of subordination to US policy with near total indifference to the interests of their own people. The name that springs to mind is Justin Trudeau. Like Johnson, a buffoonish character (fourth from right) with minimal interest in the concerns of ordinary Canadians, but fully committed to the cause of the Ukraine's Russian-hating Nazis. Not surprisingly, therefore, that, at 59%, Trudeau's public disapproval rating exactly matches that of senile Joe Biden, the worst US President in living memory.

Colonel Douglas McGregor: When the Lies Come Home

The American Conservative, June 17, 2922: Diogenes, one of the ancient world’s illustrious philosophers, believed that lies were the currency of politics, and those lies were the ones he sought to expose and debase. To make his point, Diogenes occasionally carried a lit lantern through the streets of Athens in the daylight. If asked why, Diogenes would say he was searching for an honest man.

Finding an honest man today in Washington, D.C., is equally challenging. Diogenes would need a Xenon Searchlight in each hand.

Still, there are brief moments of clarity inside the Washington establishment. Having lied prolifically for months to the American public about the origins and conduct of the war in Ukraine, the media are now preparing the American, British, and other Western publics for Ukraine’s military collapse. It is long overdue.

The Western media did everything in its power to give the Ukrainian defense the appearance of far greater strength than it really possessed. Careful observers noted that the same video clips of Russian tanks under attack were shown repeatedly. Local counterattacks were reported as though they were operational maneuvers.

Russian errors were exaggerated out of all proportion to their significance. Russian losses and the true extent of Ukraine’s own losses were distorted, fabricated, or simply ignored. But conditions on the battlefield changed little over time. Once Ukrainian forces immobilized themselves in static defensive positions inside urban areas and  the central Donbas, the Ukrainian position was hopeless. But this development was portrayed as failure by the Russians to gain “their objectives.”

Ground-combat forces that immobilize soldiers in prepared defenses will be identified, targeted, and destroyed from a distance. When persistent overhead intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance assets, whether manned or unmanned, are linked to precision guided-strike weapons or modern artillery systems informed by accurate targeting data, “holding ground” is fatal to any ground force. This is all the more true in Ukraine, because it was apparent from the first action that Moscow focused on the destruction of Ukrainian forces, not on the occupation of cities or the capture of Ukrainian territory west of the Dnieper River.

The result has been the piecemeal annihilation of Ukrainian forces. Only the episodic infusion of U.S. and allied weapons kept Kiev’s battered legions in the field; legions that are now dying in great numbers thanks to Washington’s proxy war.

Kiev’s war with Moscow is lost. Ukrainian forces are being bled white. Trained replacements do not exist in sufficient numbers to influence the battle, and the situation grows more desperate by the hour. No amount of U.S. and allied military aid or assistance short of direct military intervention by U.S. and NATO ground forces can change this harsh reality.

The problem today is not ceding territory and population to Moscow in Eastern Ukraine that Moscow already controls. The future of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions along with the Donbas is decided. Moscow is also likely to secure Kharkov and Odessa, two cities that are historically Russian and Russian-speaking, as well as the territory that adjoins them. These operations will extend the conflict through the summer. The problem now is how to stop the fighting.

Whether the fighting stops in the early fall will depend on two key factors. The first involves the leadership in Kiev. Will the Zelensky government consent to the Biden program for perpetual conflict with Russia?

If the Biden administration has its way, Kiev will continue to operate as a base for the buildup of new forces poised to threaten Moscow. In practice, this means Kiev must commit national suicide by exposing the Ukrainian heartland west of the Dnieper River to massive, devastating strikes by Russia’s long-range missile and rocket forces.

Of course, these developments are not inevitable. Berlin, Paris, Rome, Budapest, Bucharest, Sofia, Vilnius, Riga, Tallin, and, yes, even Warsaw, do not have to blindly follow Washington’s lead. Europeans, like most Americans, are already peering into the abyss of an all-encompassing economic downturn that Biden’s policies are creating at home. Unlike Americans who must cope with the consequences of Biden’s ill-conceived policies, European governments can opt out of Biden’s perpetual-war plan for Ukraine.

The second factor involves Washington itself. Having poured more than $60 billion or a little more than $18 billion a month in direct or indirect transfers into a Ukrainian state that is now crumbling, the important question is, what happens to millions of Ukrainians in the rest of the country that did not flee? And where will the funds come from to rebuild Ukraine’s shattered society in a developing global economic emergency?

When inflation costs the average American household an extra $460 per month to buy the same goods and services this year as they did last year, it is quite possible that Ukraine could sink quietly beneath the waves like the Titanic without evoking much concern in the American electorate. Experienced politicians know that the American span of attention to matters beyond America’s borders is so short that an admission of defeat in Ukraine would probably have little or no immediate consequences.

However, the effects of repeated strategic failures in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria are cumulative. In the 1980s, General Motors wanted to dictate the kind of automobiles Americans would buy, but American consumers had different ideas. That’s why G.M., which dominated the U.S. market for 77 years, lost its top spot to Toyota. Washington cannot dictate all outcomes, nor can Washington escape accountability for its profligate spending and having ruined American prosperity.

In November, Americans will go to the polls. The election itself will do more than test the integrity of the American electoral process. The election is also likely to ensure that Biden is remembered for his intransigence; his refusal to change course, like Herbert Hoover in 1932. Democrats will recall that their predecessors in the Democratic Party effectively ran against Hoover for more than a half century. Republicans may end up running against Joe Biden for the next 50 years.

NATO vs Russia: what happens next

Pepe Escobar:

The Cradle, May 24, 2022: Three months after the start of Russia’s Operation Z in Ukraine, the battle of The West (12 percent) against The Rest (88 percent) keeps metastasizing. Yet the narrative – oddly – remains the same.

On Monday, from Davos, World Economic Forum Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab introduced Ukrainian comedian-cum-President Volodymyr Zelensky, on the latest leg of his weapons-solicitation-tour, with a glowing tribute. Herr Schwab stressed that an actor impersonating a president defending neo-Nazis is supported by “all of Europe and the international order.”

He means, of course, everyone except the 88 percent of the planet that subscribes to the Rule of Law – instead of the faux construct the west calls a ‘rules-based international order.’

Back in the real world, Russia, slowly but surely has been rewriting the Art of Hybrid War. Yet within the carnival of NATO psyops, aggressive cognitive infiltration, and stunning media sycophancy, much is being made of the new $40 billion US ‘aid’ package to Ukraine, deemed capable of becoming a game-changer in the war.

This ‘game-changing’ narrative comes courtesy of the same people who burned though trillions of dollars to secure Afghanistan and Iraq. And we saw how that went down.

Ukraine is the Holy Grail of international corruption. That $40 billion can be a game-changer for only two classes of people: First, the US military-industrial complex, and second, a bunch of Ukrainian oligarchs and neo-connish NGOs, that will corner the black market for weapons and humanitarian aid, and then launder the profits in the Cayman Islands.

The Incurable Foolishness of Justin Trudeau and the Existential Threat He Poses for Canada

Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov has provoked outrage by asserting that Adolf Hitler had “Jewish origins.” The statement was made in an interview on Italian television when Lavrov was asked how  Ukraine could have a pro-Nazi government when the Ukrainian President, Zelensky, is a Jew.

Lavrov's statement prompted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to denounce the Russian Foreign Minister’s comments. They are, he told reporters during a media availability in Windsor, Ontario “ridiculous and unacceptable.”

In fact, Lavrov acknowledged that concerning his claim about Hitler's ancestry, "I may be wrong."

But his point remains: Being a Jew is no bar to being a Nazi. There were thousands of Nazi Jews in Hitler's Germany. Furthermore, there were thousands of German Jews who served in Hitler's armed forces

But the most obvious validation of Lavrov's point, namely that being a Jew is no bar to being a Nazi, is the Jewish state of Israel. Israel proclaims itself to be "The Jewish State." It is an avowedly racist state which has consistently treated the non-Jewish indigenous inhabitants of Palestine brutally.

As Moshe Dayan, head of the Israeli Defense Forces stated in 1970:
"We have no solution… You [Palestinians] shall continue to live like dogs, and whoever wishes may leave, and we will see where this process leads."

Israelis are the ultimate Nazi's, although they differ from Hitler's Nazis in being, thus far, rather more successful in occupying the land of others and adopting a policy of ethnic cleansing.

So, no Justin, you are a simple-minded twit. There's no conflict between Judaism and Nazism. They are essentially the same thing, although different groups may pursue the policy of national supremacism with greater or lesser success.

In fact, until the Western nations adopted fools and traitors to lead them, all were nationalist and proud of it. And indeed any other policy constitutes a policy of national suicide.

The process of state imposed national suicide is evident in the transformation of Britain under the traitor Edward Health and every one of his successors, from the homeland of the British People to a nation where the capital city,  London, and other great urban centers have majority ethnic populations.

The same process of national suicide is the Trudeau family policy.

Pierre Trudeau effectively legalized abortion while facilitating divorce, causing by the end of his reign, the national fertility rate to fall below the replacement rate for the first time in Canada's more than 400-year history. Under Justin Trudeau the decline in Canada's fertility continues to fall and stands now at barely two-thirds of the replacement rate.

File:Canada's fertility rate from 1929 to 2019.png

But not to worry. Justin Trudeau is aiming for 450,000 immigrants this year, almost 100,000 more than the number of live births.

True, that means Canada is destroying its own posterity, but who cares?

Yeah, Long Live Canada. The Replacement Nation, that is, not your old stock, white, racist, misogynistic, Trucker-Loving Europeans.

But Canadians old-stock or new, should watch out for payback for Justin Trudeau's contemptuous treatment of Russia. The Russians, it seems, don't like countries that help Ukrainians kill Russians.

True, we've only supplied some old field guns, dating from World War 1 perhaps and presumably deemed surplus to requirement. Still, to the Russians it's an ugly gesture. And the Russians are especially touchy right now.

Just this week Russia threatened to annihilate the British Isles with a robot sub armed with a nuke warhead capable of generating a 500-foot tsunami somewhere inside British territorial waters:

So should Canada care about possible Russian push back?

Why not? Russia, after all, is Canada's nearest neighbor after the United States, and we have 162,000 km of undefended Arctic coastline confronting Russia's highly militarized Arctic Coast of similar extent.

So might Russia not make a lighting incursion into the Canadian North, perhaps to let off some giant firecracker to elicit greater respect from the fount of  imbecility in Ottawa, or even, perhaps, to declare the Sovereign Democratic Republic of Greater Inuvik a Russian protectorate.

We're All Nazis Now

My neighbor, like many others here in Oak Bay, is flying the Ukrainian blue and yellow stripe flag. At least they have a paper facsimile of the Ukrainian flag taped to their front room window, the yellow stripe now faded to an ugly beige. My own inclination is to fly a Russian flag, less as a political gesture than because of my neighbor's annoying habit of allowing a mass of dandelions in their front lawn to go to seed, spreading the infestation far and wide.

But the pro-Ukrainian tilt in Canada is not difficult to understand. As the poorest country in Europe, Ukraine is the only significant source of European people in search of a better life to satisfy the relentless appetite for immigrants of our Canadian Fuhrer, Justin Trudeau.

But our preference for Ukies instead of, say, Africans or Muslims from the Middle East is not that we're raciss or anything. It's just that, if you're gonna suppress the fertility of the historic Canadian nation by facilitating abortion, bringing in cheap labor and driving house prices sky high, why not at least bring in people who look like members of the historic Canadian nation.

In fact, many members of the historic Canadian nation are of Ukrainian extraction, like our Deputy Fuhrerin, Christia Freeland, grand-daughter of Nazi collaborator and anti-Semite Michael Chomiak. Indeed, one might best describe Ukrainians as Canadians who haven't yet emigrated.

And the Nazi thing is another factor that links Ukrainian and Canadian feelings. The Ukies have nurtured a Nazi-like nationalist movement since it was kick-started by the Germans in the Nineteenth Century. It was that manipulative genius Bismarck who stoked Ukrainian nationalism to undermine the Russian empire of which Ukraine was then a part. Then Germans of the Hitler era gave Ukrainian nationalism another boost by, for example, engaging Ukrainians in the massacre of Jews at  Babi Ya and elsewhere.

So Canada's Nazification, under our own proto-dictator, Lustin-for-absolute-power, Trudeau, surely adds to the appeal of Canada to Ukrainians in search of a better life. Indeed, our Lustin seems to have only just failed to repeat Adolf's Reichstag fire trick en route to dictatorship by, like Hitler, invoking the Emergency Act, our own equivalent to Hitler's Enabling Act. True, this action by the Trudeau Government was justified by the Trucker's Convoy and other peaceful protests of the Government's preposterous vax mandate for truckers.

But was peaceful protest the intended justification, or simply a fallback position adopted only because Ottawa's police were smart enough to prevent an apartment building being torched during the Truckers' Protests? Not quite the same as burning down the Parliament Buildings, but as the apartment building's occupants had been deliberately trapped inside, the attempted act of arson would certainly have set the media ablaze not only in condemnation of the Truckers' Vax Mandate Protest, but in patriotic enthusiasm for ruthless strongman leadership from Trudeau.

And yes, Tamara Lich and the other Convoy organizers have reason to be truly thankful to Ottawa's police for their intervention preventing a criminally instigated tragedy.

The Total War to Cancel Russia

 By Pepe Escobar

Strategic Culture Foundation, April 8, 2022: Vast swathes of NATOstan have been corralled into behaving like a Russophobic lynch mob. No dissent is tolerated.

By now it’s abundantly clear that the neo-Orwellian “Two Minute Hate” Russophobic campaign launched by the Empire of Lies after the start of Operation Z is actually “24/7 Hate”.

Vast swathes of NATOstan have been corralled into behaving like a Russophobic lynch mob. No dissent is tolerated. The full psyops has de facto upgraded the Empire of Lies to the status of Empire of Hate in a Total War – hybrid and otherwise – to cancel Russia.

Hate, after all, packs way more punch than mere lies, which are now veering into abject ridiculousness, as in U.S. “intelligence” resorting to – what else – lies to fight the info war against Russia.

If the propaganda overdrive has been lethally effective amidst the zombified Western masses – call it a “win” in the P.R. war – in the front where it really matters, inside Russia, it’s a major fail.

Public opinion support for both Operation Z and President Putin is unprecedented. After videos of torture of Russian POWs that caused widespread revulsion, Russian civil society is even bracing for a “Long War” lasting months, not weeks, as long as the targets of the Russian High Command – actually a military secret – are met.

The stated aims are “demilitarization” and “denazification” of a future neutral Ukraine – but geopolitically reach way beyond: the aim is to turn the post-1945 European collective security arrangement upside down, forcing NATO to understand and come to terms with the concept of “indivisible security”. This is an extremely complex process that will reach the next decade.

The NATOstan sphere simply cannot admit in public a series of facts that a military analyst of the caliber of Andrei Martyanov has been explaining for years. And that adds to their collective pain.

Russia can take on NATO and smash it to bits in 48 hours. It may employ advanced strategic deterrence systems unmatched across the West. Its southern axis – from the Caucasus and West Asia to Central Asia – is fully stabilized. And if the going gets really tough, Mr. Zircon can deliver his hypersonic nuclear business card with the other side not even knowing what hit it.

“Europe has chosen its fate”

It may be enlightening to see how these complex processes are interpreted by Russians – whose points of view are now completely blocked across NATOstan.

Let’s take two examples. The first is Lieutenant General L.P. Reshetnikov, in an analytical note examining facts of the ground war.

Some key takeaways:

– “Over Romania and Poland there are airborne early warning aircraft of NATO with experienced crews, there are U.S. intelligence satellites in the sky all the time. I remind you that just in terms of budgets for our Roscosmos we allocated $2.5 billion a year, the civil budget of NASA is $25 billion, the civil budget of SpaceX alone is equal to Roscosmos – and that is not counting the tens of billions of dollars annually for the entire U.S. feverishly unfolding the control system of the entire planet.”

– The war is unfolding according to “NATO’s eyes and brains. The Ukronazis are nothing but free controlled zombies. And the Ukrainian army is a remotely controlled zombie organism.”

– “The tactics and strategy of this war will be the subject of textbooks for military academies around the world. Once again: the Russian army is smashing a Nazi zombie organism, fully integrated with the eyes and brain of NATO.”

Now let’s switch to Oleg Makarenko, who focuses on the Big Picture.

– “The West considers itself ‘the whole world’ only because it has not yet received a sufficiently sensitive punch on the nose. It just so happened that Russia is now giving him this click: with the rear support of Asia, Africa and Latin America. And the West can do absolutely nothing with us, since it also lags behind us in terms of the number of nuclear warheads.”

– “Europe has chosen its fate. And chose fate for Russia. What you are seeing now is the death of Europe. Even if it does not come to nuclear strikes on industrial centers, Europe is doomed. In a situation where European industry is left without cheap Russian energy sources and raw materials – and China will begin to receive these same energy carriers and raw materials at a discount, there can be no talk of any real competition with China from Europe. As a result, literally everything will collapse there – after industry, agriculture will collapse, welfare and social security will collapse, hunger, banditry and chaos will begin.”

It’s fair to consider Reshetnikov and Makarenko as faithfully representing the overall Russian sentiment, which interprets the crude Bucha false flag as a cover to obscure the Ukrainian army torture of Russian POWs.

And, deeper still, Bucha allowed the disappearance of Pentagon bioweapon labs from the Western mediasphere, complete with its ramifications: evidence of a concerted American drive to ultimately deploy real weapons of mass destruction against Russia.

The multi-level Bucha hoax had to include the Brit presidency of the UN Security Council actually blocking a serious discussion, a day before the Russian Ministry of Defense struggled to present to the UN – predictably minus the U.S. and the UK – all the bioweapon facts they have unearthed in Ukraine. The Chinese were horrified by the findings.

The Russian Investigative Committee at least persists in its work, with 100 researchers unearthing evidence of war crimes across Donbass to be presented at a tribunal in the near future, most probably set up in Donetsk.

And that brings us back to the facts on the ground. There’s a lot of analytical discussion on the possible endgame of Operation Z. A fair assessment would include the liberation of all of Novorossiya and total control of the Black Sea coastline that currently is part of Ukraine.

“Ukraine” in fact was never a state; it was always an annex to another state or empire such as Poland, Austria-Hungary, Turkey, and crucially Russia.

The landmark Russian state was Kievan Rus. “Ukraine”, in old Russian, means “border region”. In the past, it referred to the westernmost regions of the Russian Empire. When the Empire started expanding south, the new regions annexed mostly from Turkish rule were called Novorossiya (“New Russia”) and the northeastern regions, Malorossiya (“Little Russia”).

It was up to the USSR in the early 1920s to jumble it all together and name it “Ukraine” – adding Galicia in the west, which was historically non-Russian.

Yet the key development is when the USSR broke up in 1991. As the Empire of Lies de facto controlled post-Soviet Russia, they could never have possibly allowed the real Russian regions of the USSR – that is, Novorossiya and Malorossiya – to be again incorporated to the Russian Federation.

Russia is now re-incorporating them – in an “I Did It, My Way” manner.

Vamos a bailar in European Puerto Rico

By now it’s also quite clear to any serious geopolitical analysis that Operation Z opened a Pandora’s box. And the supreme historical victim of all the toxicity finally let loose is bound to be Europe.

The indispensable Michael Hudson, in a new essay on the U.S. dollar devouring the euro, argues half in jest that Europe might as well surrender its currency, and go on like “a somewhat larger version of Puerto Rico.”

After all, Europe “has pretty much ceased to be a politically independent state, it is beginning to look more like Panama and Liberia – ‘flag of convenience’ offshore banking centers that are not real ‘states’ because they don’t issue their own currency, but use the U.S. dollar.”

In synch with quite a few Russian, Chinese and Iranian analysts, Hudson advances that the war in Ukraine – actually in its “full-blown version as the New Cold War” – is likely to last “at least a decade, perhaps two as the U.S. extends the fight between neoliberalism and socialism [meaning the Chinese system] to encompass a worldwide conflict.”

What may be seriously in dispute is whether the U.S., after “the economic conquest of Europe”, will be able to “lock in African, South American and Asian countries”. The Eurasia integration process, rolling in earnest for 10 years now, conducted by the Russia-China strategic partnership and expanding to most of the Global South, will go no holds barred to prevent it.

There’s no question, as Hudson states, that “the world economy is being enflamed” – with the U.S. weaponizing trade. Yet on the Right Side of History we have the Rublegas, the petroyuan, the new monetary/financial system being designed in a partnership between the Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU) and China.

And that’s something no puny Cancel Culture War can erase.

How Zelensky Could End the War in Ukraine Now

Ukrainian Premier Zelensky is threatening World War III if his non-negotiable conditions for a settlement in Ukraine's ongoing war with Russia are not met.

So what are his conditions?

That Kyiv should rule over a culturally unified Ukraine.

That means the suppression of the Russian language and culture of Eastern Ukraine, whatever the people there want.

Specifically, it means enforcement of existing legislation denying Russian-language Government services, including education, throughout Russian-speaking Ukraine.

That's a policy that Canada calls Cultural Genocide. It's what Zelensky's besty, Justin Trudeau, tearfully apologized for when addressing Canada's residential school system, a system designed to take the Indian out of the Indian and adapt him to Euro-Canadian life.

But if Zelensky's Western Ukraine-dominated government is denied the right to take the Russian out of the Russians in Ukraine -- the people former Ukrainian Premier Julia Tymoshenko wanted to exterminate -- then Zelensky intends to bring down the entire world.

Thanks Zel, but no thanks. Here's a better idea: an oblast by oblast referendum on how Ukrainians wish to be governed. Here are the options:

A government of:

A bilingual (Ukrainian/Russian) Ukraine;

A Ukrainian-speaking Ukraine;

A Ukrainian-speaking Western Ukraine;

A Russian-speaking Eastern Ukraine;

A neighboring state -- Russia, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, or Romania.

Whatever the outcome, such a referendum would end Ukraine's borderland status. The whole would either be ruled by a single government to which the majority of Ukrainians, in all regions, whatever their cultural heritage, bore allegiance, or the country would be divided between two or more states, each having the allegiance of the majority of its citizens.

This, the most humane and reasonable solution, clearly would not suit the megalomaniacal Zelensky. But there is no reason why the world should back the head of the genocidal regime currently holding power in Kyiv.

What Does Zelensky Want?

Russia has made its war objectives in Ukraine clear:

1. Ukraine to acknowledge Crimea as Russian territory.

2. Ukraine to end the sniping and shelling of the breakaway Donbas republics of  Donetsk and Luhansk that is reported to have claimed 14,000 lives over the last seven years.

3. Ukraine to commit to remaining outside the anti-Russian NATO military alliance.

That Ukraine will not accept these terms, reveals what Zelensky wants. Specifically, Zelensky wants:

A. To continue painting the 2014 Russian occupation of Crimea as illegitimate, notwithstanding that:

i. Ukraine, including Crimea, has been Russian territory for much of the last one thousand years.

ii. The Russian state was founded in Kyiv where, following the baptism, in Crimea, of Vladimir I prince of Kiev, in 988, Orthodox Christianity became the Russian state church headed by the metropolitan of Kiev.

ii. Russia has ruled Crimea continuously from the time of Catherine the Great until the 1950's, when a Ukrainian General Secretary of the Soviet Communist Party, Nikita Khruschev, gifted Russian Crimea to the Soviet Socialist Republic of Ukraine. At the time of the transfer, it made no great difference to anyone since both Russia and Ukraine were subordinate to the Soviet Communist Party. On the breakup of the Soviet Union, however, Kruschev's action resulted in the Russian-populated, former-Russian territory coming under the rule of an, at times, genocidally anti-Russian Ukrainian government.

iii. In the 1850's, Russia defended the Crimean peninsula against an assault by British, French and Turkish forces in a war estimated to have cost 650,000 lives. Leo Tolstoy served in the defense of Sevastapol, winning a medal for bravery and, for his dispatches from the front, his first recognition as a writer.

iv. In early 2014, following a referendum in which over 90% of the mainly Russian-speaking population of Crimea voted for union with Russia, the Crimean Parliament requested to join the Russian Federation, which request was accepted, resulting in an essentially peaceful transfer of sovereignty. Among Ukrainian troops stationed in Crimea, many switched loyalties, becoming members of the Russian armed forces.

v. The validity of the Crimean referendum was confirmed by the US-based Pew Trust, which conducted its own opinion survey in Crimea.

B. To destroy the breakaway Donbas republics and eliminate official use of the Russian language, including in education, throughout Ukraine, notwithstanding that the majority of citizens in Eastern Ukraine are Russian speakers.

C. To join the anti-Russian NATO alliance and thus obtain the military backing of the Western nations, while wiping out Russian culture and Russian language-use across Ukraine.

As Canada's Prime Minister, dictator-wannabe Justin Trudeau, shuttles around Europe lobbying for NATO membership of Ukraine, Canadians might reflect on the consequences of Zelenskyism were it to be applied in Canada. Specifically, they should think of the consequences of a Ukrainian-style, one-language, one-culture policy as it would affect Canadian unity: except there would be no Canadian unity. Quebec would be gone, and if restrained, Quebec would fight.

They Make a Desert ...

They rob, kill and plunder... and where they make a desert, they call it "peace". Tacitus

When Vladimir Putin ordered "peace makers" into the Russian-speaking Donbas region of Eastern Ukrainane, some may have expected a limited operation: to protect the Russian-speaking residents of the breakaway Ukrainian republics of Donetsk and Luhansk. But as now seems clear, Russia's objective in Ukraine is no less than occupation and assimilation of the entire country.

But Ukraine don't rape easy. Russian forces have been held up for two weeks in attempting to subdue Ukraine's largest cities, Kyiv and Karkhiv, but thus far have little to show for their efforts but death and destruction, including many dead Russian fighters. Other towns and cities are also maintaining a  stiff and resistance. Mariupol, it seems, is in the process of being entirely destroyed to save it from occupying Ukrainian forces.

Will Russia fight and Ukraine defend until every urban area is reduced to rubble and the urban population has been decimated or put to flight? The people of Russia apparently have Putin's back. NATO, meanwhile, is pouring javelin anti-tank missiles and Stinger anti-aircraft missiles into Ukraine, thus ensuring continued Russian losses. Nothing, then, will likely end this war short of Ukrainian surrender or Russian victory.

Given the peace terms Russia has offered -- Ukrainian neutrality, an end to the sniping and shelling of the independent Donbas republics, and recognition of Crimea as Russian territory -- Ukraine could without dishonor end the war now. But it won't because it is driven by the globalist imperative that requires the destruction of Russia, something that this war, plus the sanctions of NATO nations will go far toward achieving.

NATO to Ukraine: Resistance Is Futile, You Will Be Assimilated -- By Russia

Reuters reports
:

NATO allies rejected Ukraine’s demand for no-fly zones on Friday, saying they were increasing support but that stepping in directly would lead to a broader, even more brutal European war so far limited to Russia’s assault on its neighbour.

Meanwhile, during an interview with German public broadcaster ZDFGermany's Chancellor, Olaf Scholtz said:

“Ukraine’s membership is not on The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)’s agenda.”
Furthermore, Scholtz stated that  he had made it clear in Moscow:
“... that this option [Ukraine’s membership of NATO] is not on the table and will not take place ...

While not publicly stated, one can be sure that a further consideration in the minds of NATO allies is resistance throughout the West to being made host to a growing multitude of Ukrainian war refugees, already exceeding one million in number.

The message to Ukraine is clear: call it quits -- end the bloodshed which, however valorous, must end in Ukrainian defeat.
