The rhetoric's not bad.
But what's she gonna do to make it happen?
Cutting taxes on bankers, doctors, upper level bureaucrats, and corporate exectives won't alter the fact that Britain has too many people without a clue, with no useful education and little interest in exerting themselves beyond shopping for junk food, watching TV and boozing down the pub.
Plus, for some reason, they fanatically support foreign-owned soccer teams largely dependent on foreign players, which unaccountably play under the name of British cities.
Or maybe Truss does have the right idea. Cut taxes on the productively employed while cutting benefits for the poor and unemployed will provide todays's underclass the incentive identical to that which drove the working class of the last century to pursue self-improvement.
That incentive?
Poverty.
Trouble is, though, that for an increasing proportion of ordinary folk of modest ability, however sensible they may be, the modern economy has no need. Elon's robot, however goofy, is a warning of what's to come: machines smarter than humans, able to work 24/7 at a cost below the minimum wage.
Make Elon Musk your hero if you like, but remember, he's the model of the modern entrepreneur, a man intent on making your very existence superfluous.
