Justin Trudeau, Our Idiot Premier, Talks About the Threat of Russian Attack

Breitbart: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau described “climate change” as a threat to Canadian national security during a press conference on Friday in Cold Lake, Alberta, alleging that global warming increases Russian military “accessibility” to Canada’s Arctic north.

Two things Justin:

First, is it not idiotic, having sent heavy artillery and ammo to Ukraine with which the Ukrainians are even now surely killing Russians, to depend for our defense against Russia -- our closest neighbor after the United States -- on snow and ice?

Second, if we are to promote lethal hostility against Russia, why do we have no military capacity on the ground in the Arctic to face the Russian threat? A Northern Regiment, equipped for combat under Arctic conditions would not only provide Canada with actual defensive capacity, but provide a significant economic stimulus to Northern development.

But sadly, logic is not within our leader's grasp. Posture and platitude, face-paint and fatuity are all that Trudeau has to offer.

Brilliant Billionaires, No. 79. Bill Gates's Brilliant Plan to Block the Sun Blocked

An effort to dim the sun to stop global warming has been scrapped by the Swedish Space Agency, who announced that the program, funded by Bill Gates, has ‘divided the scientific community’ and will therefore not be carried out.

Gates should confine his efforts to culling the population with epidemics and driving the survivors insane with crap software.

The solution to problems resulting from human-caused emissions of carbon carbon dioxide is to stop emitting carbon dioxide, a plan now universally agreed.

As for the carbon dioxide already added to the atmosphere, the ocean will take care of it, and it will do so at the rate of about 12 billion tons a year

How? did you ask?

Photosynthetically.

Marine algae and cynanobacteria grow by the assimilation of carbon dioxide. When these organisms die they sink to the bottom of the ocean where they form a layer of goop that retains the assimilated carbon indefinitely.

This process of marine assimilation removes about 12 billion tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere each year. That's equal to about one quarter of current human-caused, carbon dioxide emissions.

Thus, if as planned, humanity ends net carbon dioxide emissions by 2050, atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration will begin falling by around 2042.

Thereafter, atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration will continue to fall over a period of several hundred years until reaching the pre-industrial concentration of around 280 parts per million, or about 70% of the current concentration.

At that point, we will be back to an equilibrium between all emissions of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, both human-caused and natural, and photosynthetic sequestration. Thereafter Bill Gates will be able to rest easy in his grave.

Global Warming? Athens, February 2021

This picture tells you nothing about climate change, but suggests that February is a good time for sight-seeing in Greece: no unbearable heat, no crowds, and low-season hotel rates -- and next week it will be sunny with temperatures near 20 C

A Message to Maxime Bernier

The following is the text of a message I just sent Maxime Bernier. M. Bernier founded and now leads the Peoples Party of Canada. Previously, he served in the cabinet of Prime Minister Stephen Harper as Minister of Industry, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of State for Small Business and Tourism. He was narrowly defeated by Andrew Scheer in the contest for the leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada.

Following today's announcement of Andrew Scheer's resignation as leader of the Conservative Party, I emailed M. Bernier as follows:

Now Scheer's out, time to rejoin the Tories and make another run for the leadership.

Best regards,
....

PS
Don't be hard on Greta, she's only reacting to what her teachers, the science establishment, the media and the Government of every Western Nation have endlessly told her, namely, that carbon dioxide is destroying the earth and that she, as a member of the youngest generation, will suffer the greatest consequences. So she may know nothing about climate science, but she is responding entirely reasonably to what almost all supposedly responsible people are telling her.

ALSO
the carbon tax is the most economically efficient way to control carbon emissions, but it's insane for Canada to adopt a carbon tax on a purely national basis as that puts us hugely at a disadvantage with trade partners without a carbon tax. We should opt for a carbon tax only in conjunction with our major trade partners, especially the US, and provided that there is a countervailing duty on goods from countries without a carbon tax.

FINALLY
Why not a real tax reform proposal including: (1) 100% tax exemption on income below the median earned income; (2) an increase in the GST to 20%, with rebates to those with below median incomes (this would make the GST a consumption tax that would encourage savings and investment); (3) a zero rate corporation tax on distributed earnings (which will then be taxed as personal income in the hands of recipients); (4) a flat tax of 20% on all income in excess of the median (i.e., including capital gains assessed annually on all financial assets whether disposed of or not); (5) if there is a need for additional revenue, a capital tax, not to exceed 1%, with a personal exemption of $2 million.

If you agree, why not write M. Bernier (info@maximebernier.com) too.

PostScript:
In response to those urging Maxime Bernier to run for the Conservative Party leadership, the People's Party of Canada issued a statement reading, in part:

Following the resignation of the Andrew Scheer yesterday, our leader Maxime Bernier was asked by some journalists if he intended to run again in a CPC leadership race. His answer was clear: There is zero chance of it happening.

That party is morally and intellectually corrupt. Scheer was a weak leader who pushed it to the centre. Their next leader will do the same. This is why our party exists: To offer a principled conservative alternative to Canadians. We’re here to stay!
That is the only reasonable reaction, though it does not mean that M. Bernier would not, under the right circumstances, run for the leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada: it just means that the Conservative Party of Canada would have to send a top level delegates to entreat M. Bernier to run for the leadership. They'd also need to make a public apology for Scheer's people hiring a shyster PR outfit, i.e., Warren Kinsella, to mendaciously smear Bernier as a racist.

This, however, the Conservative Party of Canada will not do for the obvious reason that the Conservative Party of Canada is not a conservative party. It is just another liberal party that operates in accordance with two fundamental forces:

First, the fear of being found politically incorrect.

Second, the bipartisan lust for after office payoffs, which means subservience to the money power and in particular the freedom of the banks to print the money with which they have inflated one of the World's greatest property bubbles, in the process making Canadians among the world's most indebted people.

Greta Thunberg, the Media and White Self-Genocide

Greta Thunberg is a 16-year-old who is, therefore, too young to have much knowledge about the very complex issue of the effect of human activity on the world's climate. Still, she makes a valid point. The media, all Western governments, and every school and university insists that anthropogenic carbon emissions, i.e., the burning of fossil fuels, is leading to what will be a catastrophic change in global climate.

What Greta Thunberg is saying, namely, that it will be her generation and its successors that will suffer the most severe consequences of this approaching disaster, a disaster brought by the actions of older generations is, therefore, entirely logical and as valid as all the fear-mongering about climate change.

Moreover, not only is Greta Thunberg's message entirely reasonable, it is highly effective for the simple reason that, when not contorted by anger or fear, Greta has a pretty face: a pretty face that should remind us of another ongoing disaster imposed upon our youngest generations by the fecklessness and criminality of older generations.

That other ongoing disaster is the destruction of the sovereign democratic nation states of Europe and their diaspora, the result of genocidal policies on abortion and immigration resulting in a collapse in the fertility of the European peoples and their replacement by people of alien race, religion and culture.

How does Greta Thunberg remind us of this other ongoing disaster, which will see Greta's generation of Swedes outnumbered in their own homeland by immigrants and their descendants?

Strangely, indeed, she reminds us of this genocidal catastrophe by virtue of the recent publication of a photograph from the 1890's showing a group of children working a placer mine in the Yukon territory.

Here's Greta:

Here's Greta's lookalike, a child gold miner gold in 1898:

And here's Greta and her lookalike side by side:

Now here's the horrifying reality underlying this story. The black and white photograph showing Greta's lookalike and entitled “Three children operating rocker at a gold mine on Dominion Creek, Yukon Territory, circa. 1898,” belongs to the archives at the University of Washington. The photo, so CTV News reports, is part of a large collection of pictures taken by Swedish photographer Eric Hegg, who documented the Alaska-Yukon gold rush. But, the report continues, and this is the grotesque and horrific part, “the ...nationality of the children remain a mystery because the photographer didn’t list their names.

Now is that stupid, or just criminal misdirection?

The child in the picture looks like Greta Thunberg who we all know is Swedish. In fact, the lookalike is a dead ringer for Greta Thunberg. Therefore, the lookalike, photographed (not surprisingly by a Swedish photographer), must be of the same race as Greta, which is to say Swedish, or some sub-race of the Swedish people.

But no. Such an acknowledgement that there is such a thing as the Swedish nation, a biological entity designated for destruction through repressed fertility and mass replacement immigration, cannot under the rule of political correctness, which is to say enforced lies, be acknowledged.

So, Greta, you have a valid point about climate change. Your generation will indeed suffer the consequences of any ill effects of climate change more severely than your predecessors. But have a thought for your posterity.

Are there to be no more pretty Swedish girls, no more Greta lookalikes, but only mongrel Swedes, as likely black as white? Surely you think not. So fight on. Fight for an end to fossil fuel combustion, certainly, but fight also for the survival of your own posterity.

Rising Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide Concentration, Part I: Carbon Dioxide Is Not a Greenhouse Gas

Saving the World Through Sloth, Ineptitude, Hornswoggling, and the Carbon Tax

Many people fear that human activity is changing the climate in ways that will prove catastrophic. Others hold that fear to be overblown or entirely mistaken. Some even claim that because of the rising concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide, the world is becoming a better, more productive place. For example, because of fertilization by carbon dioxide, crop yields are rising, while because of the gentle carbon dioxide-induced warming of the planet, crop lands are extending Northward, while rainfall is increasing in the dry lands to the South of the Sahara. As a result, starvation in the poorest parts of the world is being held at bay.

The disagreement about climate change has long been intense, and positions have become deeply entrenched. The scientific debate has become rancorous. Scientists have been accused of data manipulation and fraud. Scientists have sued one another for libel. And a leading scientist recently quit the climate science field because of its "craziness."

In the public domain, the debate has become highly politicized. Former US President, Barack Obama, has claimed that climate change "is a threat that may define the contours of this century more than any other" (Whatever exactly the contours of a century may be.). Former US Vice President Al Gore has likened denial of climate change to racism. NASA's former top climate scientist and Director of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies, James Hansen, has been arrested repeatedly as a participant in protests against pipeline development, tar sands development, and coal mining.

The Phony "Scientific" American Magazine, Attacks the Phony Science Guy, in Defense of a Phony Scientific Consensus on Climate Change

Scientific American has an article attacking Bill Nye, the phony science guy, because Nye is not sufficiently PC on climate change. It's a case of the phony attacking the phony in defense of a phony scientific consensus on climate change.

It would be pointless, here, to enter into a discussion about climate change, since in the matter of that most disputed of scientific fields, insofar as it is a scientific field at all, everyone one, even the least technically informed, indeed especially the least technically informed, is an expert.

Why Government Should Get Out of the Conduct, Funding and Administration of Science

This cartoon by Josh neatly explains how the US National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) misled delegates to the 2015 Paris Climate conference at which international agreement was reached to invest trillions on measures to resist climate warming. Specifically, NOAA used unverified and untrustworthy data to claim that the widely reported pause in climate warming since the Year 2000 did not, in fact, occur.

The Trouble With Climate Science

The trouble with what is called "climate science" is that it is all about predicting the future, and as someone said, predictions are difficult, especially about the future.

Sometimes, it's true, science predicts the future reliably enough. For example, if you'd said on any day during the last four and a half billion years that "tomorrow the sun will rise in the East," you'd have been proved correct. Moreover, much else about astronomy is highly predictable. But that's because everything in the vast emptiness of space happens, well, in space. In other words, astronomical events are highly predictable because the objects about which predictions are made, planets, satellites, stars, and galaxies, are affected by their environment in very few and very predictable ways. These bodies exist in gravitational and electromagnetic fields the properties of which are well understood and which, on astronomical scales, change in strength and conformation incredibly slowly.

Global Warming Is Not a Hoax, It`s An Unproved, and Likely Unprovable, Hypothesis

Donald Trump is reported to have said that global warming is a hoax. In fact, the claim that the climate is being warmed due to human activity is not a hoax, but a hypothesis, and quite an old one.

Svante Ahrrenius, in 1896, was the first to quantify the contribution of carbon dioxide to Earth's temperature and to speculate on whether variations in the atmospheric concentration of carbon dioxide have contributed to long-term variations in climate. In later publications he suggested that the combustion of coal would affect global temperature.

Extreme Weather? Don't Worry. It's Normal

It was really, really wet in Britain last year, with 1244 mm of precipitation, more than four feet, compared with only 30 inches the year before.

Climate change is to blame, so the Guardian says:
A month's rain fell in a day last week in parts of Britain. There were 140 flood warnings in the north of England, rain forcing the evacuation of Croston and Darwen in Lancashire; elsewhere, it washed out the Isle of Wight festival. Indeed, rainfall over the last three months has broken new records – following two years in which less rain had fallen than at any time since the 1920s.

This is part of a wider pattern. It is not just that world temperatures are on average steadily rising, the weather everywhere is becoming more extreme.
But Met Office data suggest otherwise:

What the record shows is that extreme variability in British weather, or at least in rainfall, is not actually extreme, but normal, with little if any long-term trend. Thus although 2012 was very wet, it was not as wet as 1872. Likewise, although 2011 was very dry, it was not as dry as 1788.

Big, extremely violent storms are also quite normal, although they don't happen all the time, obviously, or they would'nt be considered extreme. In 1287, an unusual combination of an extreme low pressure and a very high tide created a storm surge that killed thousands in England and on the other side of the North Sea. Overnight the storm fundamentally changed the geography of the English coast:
The harbour at Hastings was destroyed, the old town of Winchelsea, which was already under attack from the sea, was abandoned, and the coastline realigned.

Perhaps the most remarkable feature of the damage was that the thriving port of New Romney was turned into a landlocked town. Massive quantities of shingle from Dungeness, along with mud and soil, inundated the town, completely filled the harbour, and left New Romney nearly a mile from the sea.

The river Rother, which ran through the town, was stopped up by the storm and found a new outlet to the sea at Rye, 15 miles away, a course that the river still takes. In New Romney (a Saxon name, so not very new) there is still visible evidence of this extreme event. It is a draw for archaeologists, because the silt and gravel covered and preserved the town.

Visitors to the parish church of St Nicholas, the only surviving building from the period, have to step down into the church. There are still stains on the pillars marking the level of the flood.
Then there was the grote Mandrenke of 1362:
The Grote Mandrenke (Low Saxon for “Great Drowning of Men”) was the name of a massive southwesterly Atlantic gale which swept across England, the Netherlands, Northern Germany, and Schleswig around January 16, 1362, causing at minimum 25,000 deaths. …An immense storm tide of the North Sea swept far inland from the Netherlands to Denmark, breaking up islands, making parts of the main land into islands, and wiping out entire towns and districts, such as Rungholt on the island of Strand in North Frisia. This storm tide, along with others of like size in the 13th century and 14th century, played a part in the formation of the Zuider Zee.
The chief difference between now and then is that we now know much more than our ancestors would have known about extreme weather events occurring far from home. Thus many people may be under the mistaken impression that extreme weather events are more common now than in the past. Unfortunately, the media rarely put this information in a context that permits rational evaluation of trends and risks.
