Joe here links to a James Grundvig article with a very provocative phone video. The “kinetic bombardment” weapons have been discussed for a really long time. Reagan's Star Wars stuff was greeted by at least one Russian fellow in negotiation who said "Forget nukes, let's talk about banning the far more deadly weapons being developed now."
"Now" was forty years ago. Plenty of time to shoot a beam down from space and flatten a bridge in the 21st century.
Here's another theory that postulates that the truck bomb was a decoy to create a false impression of cause and effect. According to this account, the damage was done by 450 kg of explosives previously position on the bridge.

Yes -- a speeding truck would throw everyone off. And it's very like the security agencies to do it that way.
ReplyDeleteThe Russians can call in lots of favors-owed right now and if I were Putin I would do just that. But the wife is half-Polish by ancestry and thinks the Russians need their clocks cleaned. Totally feminine, illogical and grouchy. But I'm too old to sleep on the beat up sofa in the basement so all I can do is hope wiser heads prevail. Soon.
The Poles have much to complain of concerning Russians, although backing Nazis does not seem, from a Polish perspective, a great alternative.
