OrientalReview.org, July 6, 2019: With the nearly weekly revelations that the British Foreign Office, MI6, and GCHQ have been behind the long standing agenda to undermine the Presidency of Donald Trump and undo the peaceful alliance between nationalist leaders in America, Russia, China and elsewhere, a new focus on the British hand in undermining the United States has become a serious thought for many citizens. In the first week of the new year, fuel was added to this fire when internal memos were leaked from the British-run Integrity Initiative featuring a startling account of the techniques deployed by the anti-Russian British operation to infiltrate American intelligence institutions, think tanks and media.

For those who may not know, The Integrity Initiative is an anti-Russian propaganda outfit funded to the tune of $140 million by the British Foreign office. Throughout 2019, leaks have been released featuring documents dated to the early period of Trump’s election, demonstrating that this organization, already active across Europe promoting anti-Russian PR and smearing nationalist leaders such as Jeremy Corbyn, was intent on spreading deeply into the State Department and setting up “clusters” of anti-Trump operatives. The documents reveal high level meetings that Integrity Initiative Director Chris Donnelly had with former Trump Advisor Sebastien Gorka, McCain Foundation director Kurt Volker, Pentagon PR guru John Rendon among many others.

The exposure of the British hand behind the scenes affords us a unique glimpse into the real historical forces undermining America’s true constitutional tradition throughout the 20th century, as Mueller/the Five Eyes/Integrity Initiative are not new phenomena but actually follow a modus operandi set down for already more than a century. One of the biggest obstacles to seeing this modus operandi run by the British Empire is located in the belief in a mythology which has become embedded in the global psyche for over half a century and which we should do our best to free ourselves of.

Did Vladimir Putin Just Admit Russian Responsibility for the Novichok Poisonings in England's Green and Pleasant Land?

As anyone visiting here on a more or less regular basis will know, we have written a number of posts about the Novichok poisonings in England of the Russian traitor, Sergei Skripal, and his daughter Julia, and also the British citizens, Charlie Rowley and Dawn Sturgess.

Throughout, we have been skeptical of the British position that the poisonings were perpetrated by the Russian state, roused to seek vengeance against Skripal, despite having formerly pardoned him in connection with a spy swap. Rather, it seemed to us more probable that the poisonings were a charade undertaken by British security services as means to stoke public antipathy toward Russia.

Our assessment has now to be questioned in light of Vladimir Putin's remarks on the case that were addressed to former UK Prime Minister Teresa May during the recent G20 summit.

Specifically, Putin said:

“Treason is the gravest crime possible and traitors must be punished. I am not saying the Salisbury incident is the way to do it, but traitors must be punished.”

Sounds pretty much like a confession of Russian responsibility to me, which in itself, makes the statement remarkable. But if it is a confession, it raises the question: for what was Sergei Skripal being punished? Not presumably, for the treasonous acts for which he was formerly convicted, jailed and subsequently pardoned.

The Russian State English Language broadcaster, RT, puts some spin on Putin's comment, stating:

At the same time, [Putin] made it clear that the poisoning of the former double agent Sergei Skirpal and his daughter Yulia, which took place in the British town of Salisbury back in March 2018 and was blamed on Russia by London, is definitely “not the way to do it.” The president explained that the former Russian intelligence colonel already received his punishment under Russian law as he served his time in prison and was therefore “off the radar.” He reiterated that this whole affair had little to do with Russia, while maintaining that London has failed to present any sufficient proof of Moscow’s alleged guilt to the public till this day.

Which, does not, it seems to me, settle the matter. Putin has exceptional skill in the diplomatic use of words, and RT's spin does little negate what seems the most plausible interpretation of his comment.

However, it is possible that Putin's statement was, in fact, a taunt, a taunt based on the knowledge, shared with Theresa May to whom his remark was addressed, that Sergei Skripal was a triple agent, who, having moved to England, ostensibly to continue in the service of the British to whom he had betrayed Russia, was in fact, acting in the service of Russia.

It might well then have been that his allegiance to Russia, having been discovered by the Brits, became the justification for a British charade intended to demonize Russia. That would explain the look of disgust, or is it despair, on Theresa May's face, during her interaction with Putin at the G20 Tokyo summit.

One hopes that Rob Slane, former UK Ambassador Craig Murray, and others who have been skeptical of the official British narrative of this peculiar case will offer their perspective on Putin's comment.

Boeing corporation has [had, now zero] only one aeronautical engineer on its board of directors, Dennis Muilenburg, who serves as President, Chairman, and Chief Operating Officer. With the exception of a couple of book-keepers, other board members appear to be of little more than decorative value, vanity board members, including such engineering notables as Caroline Kennedy, daughter of JFK, and just appointed Nikki Haley, former US Ambassador to the UN.

Apparently Boeing's management, i.e., Mr. Muilenberg, doesn't give a damn about aircraft safety, only about saving a buck, a supposition confirmed by Bloomberg News, which reports that the defective software that brought down two of Boeing's newly introduced 737MAX airliners was written by immigrant subcontractors earning as little as $9 an hour. This at a time when the company was laying off experienced engineers.

Increasingly, according to Bloomberg, 

... the iconic American planemaker and its subcontractors have relied on temporary workers making as little as $9 an hour to develop and test software, often from countries lacking a deep background in aerospace -- notably India. In offices across from Seattle’s Boeing Field, recent college graduates employed by the Indian software developer HCL Technologies Ltd.occupied several rows of desks, said Mark Rabin, a former Boeing software engineer who worked in a flight-test group that supported the Max. The coders from HCL were typically designing to specifications set by Boeing. Still, “it was controversial because it was far less efficient than Boeing engineers just writing the code,” Rabin said. Frequently, he recalled, “it took many rounds going back and forth because the code was not done correctly.”... Based on resumes posted on social media, HCL engineers helped develop and test the Max’s flight-display software, while employees from another Indian company, Cyient Ltd., handled software for flight-test equipment.

And there were other benefits to using incompetent Indian contractors.

Boeing’s cultivation of Indian companies appeared to pay other dividends. In recent years, it has won several orders for Indian military and commercial aircraft, such as a $22 billion one in January 2017 to supply SpiceJet Ltd. That order included 100 737-Max 8 jets and represented Boeing’s largest order ever from an Indian airline, a coup in a country dominated by Airbus.

Seemingly, the American drive to corporate monopolism isn't working well. Without competition, terminal stupidity is setting in. What to do? Break up the corrupt and increasingly useless behemoths and recreate the productive competitive free market economy that American capitalists have always said they believed in.

Specifically, what must be suppressed is an awareness of the simple arithmetical consequences of importing masses of philoprogenitive people of alien race, religion and culture to nations afflicted by a reproductive dysfunction.

All of the European-majority nations have a below replacement fertility rate, in many cases a fertility rate barely half the replacement rate. Mass immigration to those nations intensifies the reproductive failure of the native populations and speeds the genocidal replacement of the indigenous nation.

Only an  awareness of the fate picked out for them by the globalist Treason Party can save the European peoples. Hence the ruthless suppression of anti-immigrationist speech.

Of the first Democratic Presidential Candidate's debate, Reason magazine reports: 

When asked about what she would do about the gender pay gap, the Hawaii representative declined to answer the moderators' lady question, instead choosing to denounce our current interventionist foreign policy.

A good response, although she might have pointed out that it was a bullshit question. The US is an avowedly capitalist country. That means wages are determined by supply and demand. If women take jobs at lower wages than men, that means either that, overall, the market does not value female workers as highly as male workers — which makes sense for all sorts of reason (for instance, men do not generally take maternity leave or quit work early to have children, women do), or women are bad negotiators. Either way, its not something for legislators to legislate about unless they are anti-capitalists, i.e., socialists aka totalitarian communists, like Bernie Sanders.

Later in the debate, when Rep. Tim Ryan (D–Ohio) referenced the recent deaths of two U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan as a reason to continue our war in the country, Gabbard was having none of it, saying:

"Will you tell the parents of those two soldiers that were killed in Afghanistan that we have to be engaged? That is unacceptable. We have lost so many lives, we have spent so much money..."

It takes a military veteran, apparently, to understand what war is about. 

No surprise, then, that Gabbard was the hands down winner of the debate according to post-debate polls. With Gabbard as the Democrat candidate, Trump's reelection would be in real doubt. Trouble is, the entrenched leaders of the Democrat party probably hate rational anti-war candidates even more than the Republican leadership does.

Corporate interests have long taken care to ensure that the people of the democratic Western nations express their democratic will as the corporate interests require. Idiots, lunatics and revolutionary sons-of-bitches in Justin Trudeau's morally perfect Canadian universe are now waging war on Western civilization while threatening the mental health of small children by telling them that they are neither boys nor girls.

Jordan Peterson, the University of Toronto psychologist who we have ridiculed for his absurd IQ-ist claims, is thus to be applauded for his courageous public stand on the reality of human sexual differentiation between male and female, despite the enraged antagonism of University of Toronto crackpots and activists, backed by the Ontario Human Rights Commission and the Trudeau government.

Yes, some individuals do not fit neatly into either the male or female category, whether that be for physical or psychological reasons. Yes, those people deserve consideration. But Hell no, those people, or rather the malign SJW's who seek to exploit them, have no business indoctrinating children with the the totally false and indeed insane idea that there are no "real" boys or girls. Such perverse propaganda can do harm and its proponents should be shut up. Jordan Peterson is among the few people with the balls to tell them to shut up.

Writing in the National Post yesterday,  Peterson states:

National Post, June 21, 2019: about an application filed before the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario by the parents of a six year girl, “N,” who was made subject to the new tenets of gender identity theory by her hypothetically well-meaning elementary school teacher at Devonshire Community Public School (Ottawa-Carleton District School Board). According to Kay’s account, the teacher insisted to the children that “there is no such thing as girls and boys,” and “girls are not real and boys are not real.” In consequence, “N” began to manifest substantial confusion about her identity. She asked her parents why her existence as a girl was not real. She asked to see a doctor for an opinion. She became unsettled about the reality of her biological existence. Her concern persisted over a three-month period — a long time in the life of a young person.

Peterson continues:

National Post, June 21, 2019: I can barely envision a pedagogical strategy less conducive to stable early childhood development, particularly for a thoughtful child, which is exactly what “N” seems to be — much to her detriment, in this situation. Trusting her teacher, as she apparently did, “N” listened to her lessons and tried to think through what the complicated and internally contradictory mess of information she was presented with might actually signify — and failing, as was inevitable, because there is nothing that it signifies that is reasonable, logical, practical, or true. No matter: “gender fluidity” is school board policy, even for six-year-olds, and the distress of a perfectly normal child at the lessons is a price well worth paying to ensure that ideological purity, no matter how counterproductive and absurd, is stringently maintained. Better the child suffers than the teacher thinks. Better the entire educational system reformulates itself around the new dogma (and to hell with the possibility that the experiment might go wrong) than the ideologues governing its structure question their absurd and fundamentally resentful presumptions.

How Britain Wages War in Yemen

Philip May, husband of failed former UK Prime Minister, Thereason May, is a Senior Executive of Capital Group, a £1.4Tn investment firm which is the largest shareholder in Britain's largest defense contractor BAE Systems. BAE Systems, as it happens, has huge contracts with the Government of Saudi Arabia for the supply of weapons, equipment maintenance and the provision of engineers inside Saudi Arabia.

Thus, according to a Guardian report:

“The Saudi bosses absolutely depend on BAE Systems,” John Deverell, a former MoD mandarin and defence attache to Saudi Arabia and Yemen, told me. “They couldn’t do it without us.” A BAE employee recently put it more plainly to Channel 4’s Dispatches: “If we weren’t there, in seven to 14 days there wouldn’t be a jet in the sky.” The British bombs that rain down on Yemen are produced in three towns: Glenrothes in Scotland, and Harlow and Stevenage in south-east England. Bombs roll off production lines owned by Raytheon UK and BAE Systems, firms contracted by the government to manufacture Paveway bombs (£22,000 apiece), Brimstone bombs (£105,000 apiece), and Storm Shadow cruise missiles (£790,000 apiece) for the Saudi Royal Air Force. BAE, under government contract, also assembles the jets that drop these bombs in hangars just outside the village of Warton, Lancashire. Once these weapons arrive in Saudi Arabia, Britain’s involvement is far from over. The Saudi military lacks the expertise to use these weapons to fight a sustained air war – so BAE, under another contract to the UK government, provides what are known as “in-country” services. In practice, this means that around 6,300 British contractors are stationed at forward operating bases in Saudi Arabia. There, they train Saudi pilots and conduct essential maintenance night and day on planes worn out from flying thousands of miles across the Saudi desert to their targets in Yemen. They also supervise Saudi soldiers to load bombs on to planes and set their fuses for their intended targets. Around 80 serving RAF personnel work inside Saudi Arabia. Sometimes they work for BAE to assist in maintaining and preparing aircraft. At other times they work as auditors to ensure that BAE is fulfilling its Ministry of Defence contracts. Additional RAF “liaison officers” work inside the command-and-control centre, from where targets in Yemen are selected.

America, A Failed State?

That was a time of open upper class advocacy of eugenics — by among others, Francis Darwin, Maynard Keynes, Winston Churchill and the Fabian socialists H.G. Welles and George Bernard Shaw, the latter appealing to scientists to develop a "humane" gas for exterminating the unproductive.

Today, the same hatred manifests in a genocidal policy of reproductive suppression and mass replacement immigration (yes they need people to keep the real estate development racket going, the greatest source of wealth in Britain, and other Western nations), but not the hated white lower classes. Any people are considered better than that, even the settler Muslims who openly proclaim that “Europe is the Cancer, Islam is the answer.”

Human Events June 18, 2019: Step into the shoes of a UK supermarket manager. You have gained experience in dealing with customer complaints, some more reasonable than others. Now you are confronted with an irate woman in her thirties, pointing to a cabinet full of fresh produce. She cannot bear to touch any of the items because they are emblazoned with Union Jack packaging.

“Why are you promoting nationalism? This is so divisive.”

“Well”, you calmly reply, “many of our customers like to support British farmers.”

“It’s disgusting”, she shouts back. “I won’t come back to one of your fascist shops again.”

This was an actual exchange described by a woman on Facebook. A perfect illustration of the British social divide: a member of the privileged, progressive middle class taking umbrage at the parochial, patriotic sentiment of ordinary people.

For this person, any expression of national pride or belonging is offensive jingoism. Not surprisingly, her profile identified herself as a Remainer who wants Britain to stay in the European Union.

The Dismemberment of Thinking

James Howard Kunstler: Who knew that these mid-cycle days of the long emergency (i.e. the collapse of techno-industrial economies) would feature the willful abandonment of reason by the thinking class of Western Civ, and America extra-specially? Reminder: the basic catalyst for collapse is over-investments in complexity with diminishing returns. The rest follows from there.

Another name for diminishing returns is blowback. The Internet is certainly the most complex assembly of human thought in human history and it is blowing back ferociously on humanity in ways that are far from obvious. It has set in motion countless recursive feedback loops of misinformation, disinformation, and ideas that are simply bad in the sense that they don’t comport with reality. Hence, the new elastic meaning of the concept known as “truth.”

Capital T Truth used to be mankind’s conduit to reality. To even state it that way now may invite censure for sexism, since the word “man” has lately been burdened with toxic overtones; while the concept of sexism itself is tinged with the unreal notion that the hard-wired tensions between men and women should not be allowed to exist and must be abolished. That’s how hopelessly complex it’s getting. The divorce between truth and reality is nearly complete now that everybody has his/her/zhe’s own truth, and the facts are just ornaments subject to rearrangement within anyone’s own story.

The stupendous failures of authority driving America to political collapse are one manifestation of these dynamics, and one that might concern the thinking class, if it wasn’t so busy mind-fucking itself and everybody else.

Are You Eating Yourself Stupid?

A while ago, we embarked on a series of posts entitled Twelve Rules for Life. Our first rule was CUT OUT SUGAR.

After that, we said something about how to show leadership. Then the project fizzled for lack of ten more ideas. However, a new paper by Australian National University Professor Nicolas Cherbuin confirms that we were on the right track, at least about sugar. 

In a recent paper in Frontiers in Neuroendocrinology, Cherbuin and associates reported that brain health can decline much earlier in life than previously thought due, in large part, to a rotten diet based on junk food (i.e., high in an addictive combination of fats and sugar). Thus, as reported at MedicalExpress, Cherbuin et al. have found that:

"People are eating away at their brain with a really bad fast-food diet and little-to-no exercise, ... 30 percent of the world's adult population is either overweight or obese, and more than 10 percent of all adults will suffer from type 2 diabetes by 2030."

What's more, Cherbuin's group report that:

Although, the "link between type 2 diabetes and the rapid deterioration of brain function is already well established," "... our work shows that neurodegeneration, or the loss and function of neurons, sets in much, much earlier [than previously understood]—we've found a clear association between this brain deterioration and unhealthy lifestyle choices."

And here's the punch line:

"People are eating away at their brain with a really bad fast-food diet and little-to-no exercise."

So if we ever get around to it writing about it, our Third Rule for Life will be: Exercise daily.

US Secretary of State, Pompeo, Promises Political Interference in Britain

Speaking at a private meeting with [American] "Jewish leaders", to discuss the Trump Administration's Middle East peace plan, US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, was asked:

if Corbyn [Leader of the UK Labour Party] “is elected, would you be willing to work with us to take on actions if life becomes very difficult for Jews in the U.K.?”

In response Pompeo is reported to have said:

“It could be that Mr. Corbyn manages to run the gantlet and get elected. It’s possible. You should know, we won’t wait for him to do those things to begin to push back. We will do our level best... It’s too risky and too important and too hard once it’s already happened.”

Which, according to the same report, evoked "a voracious round of applause" from the attending "Jewish leaders."

So much for Jewish and American respect for the British people. And really why should they respect them when the British leadership is so committed to another country.

Pompeo is the man who boasted that, when he was Director of the CIA We lied, we cheated, we stole. And they take pre-emptive action, apparently, to ensure the outcome of a British election is satisfactory to Jews.

Wow. That's twice as many people as migrated in 2018 to Canada, a country 76 times as large as England, where most of Britain's immigrants settle.

Bullshit Debunked, No. 79: Race Is a Social Construct

The Maverick Philosopher, Bill Vallicella, quotes a correspondent on the claim that "Race is a social construct":

What do they even mean? ... What could it mean to say that race is a "social construct"? Do they mean that there are no biological or ancestral differences at all between Whites and Blacks and Orientals? That's just ridiculous -- like saying there are no biological differences between human beings and gorillas.

I think in most cases they don't mean anything much. They haven't thought about it. It's a smart-sounding phrase they picked up from PBS or from some half-wit university lecturer. It's the kind of thing the bien pensant people say. So they say it too. And they know that, whatever it really means, it must be true and morally right to say it. They know that only Nazis disagree. I've talked to some educated intelligent Leftists who say stuff like this. They usually just retreat to Lewontin's fallacy—more differences within races than between, and all of that. Again, it seems they just don't want to think about it and they use these dumb phrases as a way to avoid thinking. The dumb phrases change once in a while. I guess in earlier decades we'd hear more about how "There is only one race, the human race". But it may be a mistake to expect any clear or coherent meaning behind these propaganda phrases.

Uncowed, Cleese responded to the condemnation by, in effect, calling the cultural transformation of London, England's greatest city, cultural genocide:

I think it's legitimate to prefer one culture to another For example, I prefer cultures that do not tolerate female genital mutilation. This will be considered racist by all those who hover, eagerly hoping that someone will offend them - on someone else's behalf, naturally.

And Cleese spoke only about culture.

That London has been ethnically cleansed of the majority of its English inhabitants is perhaps too hot a topic even for John Cleese to mention. It would be like Jews in Nazi Germany objecting to the Holocaust. No, today, in Britain, opposing the genocide of your own people is not only horribly racist, it is probably illegal too.

A piece Tuesday by respected Toronto Star columnist Chantal Hébert suggested a group of Liberal “insiders” had been strategizing on a conference call to replace Justin Trudeau with the current governor of the Bank of England, Mark Carney, in the event the party fares badly in October’s election.

A case of replacing a lightweight with a featherweight. 

Liberal insiders, Ivison further reports,

are convinced Carney would be the Messiah, and they’re in a good position to know, having followed a few (take a bow Michael Ignatieff and Paul Martin).

Moreover, says Ivison,

There is a feeling in the broader Liberal movement that he [Trudeau] is becoming a liability.

Like anything else you are likely to read in the newspaper, that is untrue. Rather it is a very loose restatement of the historical fact that former UK Prime Minister, and queer, Edward Heath was the recipient of the Charlemagne Prize, often referred to as the Treason Prize, which at the time was worth £75,000.

Thus, apart from the facts, the story is true, which is to say that Edward Heath lied the Brits into the Common Market as the EU was then known by the pretense that it was merely a trade association, not a plan for ever tighter political union under a non-democratic constitution.

Threason May has proved herself a true successor to Edward Heath, in intention, if not it effect. Her apparent failure to squelsh the Brexit Referendum result will surely rob her of any chance at the Treason, I mean Charlemagne, Prize. 

The Charlemagne Prize it is said, is intended to promote the same objectives as moitvated the leaders of Europe's short-lived Nazi empire. Thus:

Are You a Mispronunciation Moron?

Over at the Unz Review, a strange concoction of anti-Semitism, Hitler apologetics, racism and IQ-ist fake science, the latest in the promotion of IQ bollocks is the claim that the way you pronounce a few dozen English words pretty well defines you intellectually.

The idea seems more bonkers than most of what Ron Unz publishes since, in Britain at least, pronunciation is chiefly a matter of social class and regional affiliation.

Thus, if you are very high class indeed, you will quite likely pronounce girl as gel.

If you're a graduate of Oxford University, you will pronounce Oxford as Awksfud, off as awf, and Magdalen College as Maudlin College (It's as though they're constantly sucking in their cheeks.).

 If you are from Glasgow, you may pronounce football, as fitbah.

If you are from the English Midlands, you will pronounce the city of Leicester, Lester, and the town of Bicester, Bister.

If you are from one of the more prosperous parts of London, you will pronounce Cardigan Gardens as Caduggan Gardens.

And if you are from certain parts of East London, you will pronounce Heathrow Airport as Eefro Airpor!.

And if your friend is named Mainwaring, he most likely pronounces it Mannering, whereas, if his name is Meagher he probably introduces himself as Marr. However, there can be some flexibility in the pronunciation of names. Thus, when the First World War era politician and crook, Horatio Bottomly, called upon Lord Cholmondley, the conversation with the butler who answered the door went as follows:

Bottomly: My name's Bottomly, I've come to see Lord Chol-mond-ly
Butler: Do you mean Lord Chumley
Bottomly: Yes, tell Lord Chumley it's Mr. Bumley.

But I suppose there is something to be said forUnz promoting this IQ-ist this nonsense. It helps expose the absurdity of the idea that non-entities with a bachelor's degree in Psych. are qualified to assess the intelligence of their mental superiors from Isaac Newton and J.S. Bach to Alan Turing and Richard Feynman: a claim that seems particularly absurd, as these self-proclaimed experts haven't even a decent theory of what intelligence is. All they have, beside the word pronunciation test and other wacky schemes to pigeon-hole you, are a few simple tests of reasoning, verbal, numerical, and diagrammatic, results of which naturally enough correlate moderately well with academic performance, although not quite as well, according to IQ specialist Richard Lynn, as traditional subject-based exams. And, happily for those like Winston Churchill, Prime Minister, victorious war leader, Nobel Laureate in Literature, who languished at the bottom of the class during his school days, neither IQ tests nor exams, let alone pronunciation predict future academic achievement, income, or career success to any useful degree. What such tests may show, is if you are a complete moron, which was the sole purpose of the original intelligence test, that devised by Alfred Binet.

Democracy is a charade imposed by the elite upon a docile people to keep them docile. It was never intended that the stinking proletariat should actually decide anything. But universal education and a rising standard of living, both prerequisites of a tech-based industrial economy, have changed all that. Thus, as we observed of Britain:

Meantime, across the Chanel, France's traditionally stupendously arrogant elite are faced with outrageous public contempt from the pestilential and never relenting Yellow Vests, who, it is reported:

Their uprising has unmasked the lies and violence of republican government, as well as the duplicity of representative institutions like political parties, bureaucratic unions and the mainstream media.

The Craig Murray Interview: Part II. Former UK Ambassador Seeks Destruction of British State

Former UK Ambassador, Craig Murray, believes that the British state is deeply corrupt. So corrupt, indeed, that he seeks its destruction.

By way of concrete action to achieve the destruction of the UK, Murray has, during recent years, devoted much of his time and energy to the cause of what is, nominally, Scotch Nationalism and the Scottish National Party's drive to tear Scotland from the United Kingdom.

I say what is "nominally Scotch nationalism, since both Murray and the Scottish National Party wish for an independent Scotland to remain within the European Union, where the Scotch would constitute a mere 1% of the total population (versus almost 10% of the UK population) in an increasingly tight political union of 500 million people that is fundamentally anti-nationalist.

It seems to me, furthermore, that Murray's prescription for Britain, the destruction of the state, seems rash indeed. Countries that disintegrate, whether spontaneously or through the application of pressure from without, rarely have a happy future, as the examples of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya demonstrate. True, a satisfactory recovery may be possible, as with Russia and some other post Soviet states, though not with the Ukraine, where the US-engineered destruction of the state led to dismemberment, and population collapse. Better, for the UK, surely, is reform not dismemberment, however, vast the challenge, and difficult the means.

Still, I think Craig Murray is fundamentally an honest man. He has some interesting things to say and says them well, as revealed in this conversation with former Scottish First Minister, Alex Salmond.

Trump's Tariffs: Why Such a Half-Baked Policy?

The problem with Trump is an incapacity to act to any effect. He hasn't even built the goddam wall, or stopped the flood of illegal immigrants by other means.

Now Trump is imposing tariffs on China to punish China for stealing American industrial and military secrets, which obviously, won't stop China stealing American industrial and military secrets.

Why not?

Because the US is in an informational, technological and economic war with China for global supremacy. China ain't gonna give up just because Trump bans Huiwei phone gear, or sticks a tariff on imports of Chinese-made Christmas tree lights.

The only consequence of Trump's anti-China tariffs, if they stay, is to force global corporations in search of cheap labor, to move off-shore production from China to Bangladesh, Vietnam or a dozen other places. Meantime, the Chinese will have more Christmas tree lights for their own consumption. So who cares? What difference does it make?

If Trump actually wanted to rebuild America's industrial base, he should impose a tariff wall against every one, with the exception of Canada, Mexico, and the rest of Latin America: the condition being, of course, that those countries free to export to America tariff-free enter the same tariff ring-fence as America.

That way, US labor would be competing not with billions of low wage workers, but a manageable 400 million Latin Americans. Moreover, those Latin American competitors would have an incentive to purchase high-tech gear tariff-free from the US, rather than China or elsewhere beyond the tariff ring fence. A further benefit would be to raise the prosperity of Latin America, thereby reducing the inclination of millions of Latin Americans to migrate to North America.

Two other requirements for a sound US industrial policy are:

1. Anti-monopoly legislation that creates fierce competition within the protected Western Hemisphere market;

2. Negotiation with other high wage countries, including Japan, S. Korea, Australia, and the European nations, to bring them within the tariff protected trade zone.

None of this will get done, obviously. Instead, it looks as though we may be about to see the Mother-of-all wars for global hegemony against Iran.

Yes, Tariffs Raise Domestic Prices, That's the Reason for Them

BePo, the Bezos Post, aka the Washington Post, reported on Monday that:

National Economic Council Director Lawrence Kudlow acknowledged Sunday that American consumers end up paying for the administration's tariffs on Chinese imports, contradicting President Trump's repeated inaccurate claim that the Chinese foot the bill.

Which is a truth stated with intent to deceive.

Yes, tariffs raise the price of imported goods, which is bad. But tariffs boost domestic production of import substitutes, thus raising the demand for labor, hence raising wages, thus enabling Americans to pay higher prices for locally produced goods. 

Moreover, the substitution of domestic products for many of the half-trillion-dollars-worth of goods the US currently imports from China will greatly increase domestic demand for the materials and machines necessary to expand American manufacturing. This, in turn, will stimulate investment in all kinds of R and D and in technical education. 

Who loses from tariffs?

The globalist elite, who seek relentlessly to maximize profits by manufacturing where wages are lowest and environmental and workplace health and safety regulations are weakest, while selling where prices are highest, and taking profits where taxes are lowest or non-existent. 

That's why MAGA is such an incendiary idea. Globalists don't want to make American industry great again or Americans prosperous again. They want to make Americans poor — dirt poor, like the teeming masses of Third Worlders with whom they are striving mightily to flood both the United States and Europe, thereby to drive down wages.

And that's why the globalist elite deploy leftist puppets to accuse of racism, those who oppose their own impoverishment through invasion of their homeland by people of alien race, religion and culture.
