Lockdowns, business closures, ballooning public debt and deficits, interrupted schooling, adverse vaccine events including death — over 12, 000 in the Province of Ontario alone: these are among the many costs of the war on Covid.
What have been the benefits?
No doubt in the early stages of the epidemic some Covid infections, and hence deaths, were avoided by measures to "flatten the curve." Because of the costs, however, such draconian measures could not be maintained indefinitely. Rather, they were imposed to limit viral spread until the many novel so-called vaccines for Covid then under development became available for use, albeit without the usual multi-year-long human and animal safety testing.
Beginning in January of this year, "vaccines" have been rapidly deployed in many countries. The results, however, have been disappointing. In Israel, for example, one of the first countries to achieve majority "vaccinated" status, vaccine efficacy (in preventing illness, not infection) declined from over 90% initially to a percentage in the low twenties after six months. The decline in effectiveness means that maintenance of high immunity will require "booster" shots at intervals of just a few months.
In the United States, the Center for Disease Control reported that the "vaccinated" are not protected from infection and may carry as heavy a viral load as the un-"vaccinated". The "vaccines" thus fail to provide immunity from infection or to prevent viral spread, although they apparently reduced risk of severe illness.
Thus the situation today in Canada, as in many other countries is that although a majority of the population have been "vaccinated" against Covid, normal life continues to be prohibited, supposedly to protect the "vaccinated" from the un-"vaccinated."
In truth, however, the un"vaccinated" are likely in greater need of protection from the "vaccinated" than are the "vaccinated" from the un"vaccinated". That is because, as noted above, the "vaccinated" are not immune to infection and may carry a high Covid viral load. Thus the "vaccinated" may be as likely as the un"vaccinateded" to spread the disease. Indeed, due to a false sense of immunity, the "vaccinated" may spread the disease more readily than the un"vaccinated." Such an effect may explain the phenomenon observed in many countries of an upturn in Covid infections following the onset of mass Covid "vaccination."
As a consequence of current Canadian policy, we exist in an unstable equilibrium with Covid. Most of the population, having been protected by the various social control measures plus "vaccination" from what would in most case have been a mild or asymptomatic Covid infection, lack the robust and durably full-spectrum immunity that follows infection.
Covid "vaccines" are not only short-lived in effect but also leaky, which is to say unable to provide full protection against infection or disease. What that means is that most members of a fully "vaccinated" and continually re-"vaccinated" population will, in time, experience a mild a Covid infection. Only with the natural immunity thus induced will long-lived and possibly life-long protection from future infection be achieved.

But if this is the unannounced strategy behind the "vaccination" campaign, it is insane. First, the cost per life saved will be astronomical, meaning that money is being spent far less well than it could be on other life saving measures. Second, it is a strategy that ignores the fact that a large number of people already have full-spectrum Covid immunity from infection. Recent estimates put the proportion of the US population with immunity acquired through infection at 20%. Assuming a similar rate of natural immunity in Canada, that would imply the existence of 7.5 million Canadians upon whom the Government of Canada, in league with the Provinces, is intent on forcing a needless "vaccine," plus endless "booster" shots.
What we see in Canada is thus mass-scale medical malpractice. Vaccination comes at a cost in money, time and risk to human health. It should only be compelled in the case of dire national emergency, which the Covid epidemic is not. Moreover, the current mass vaccination campaign should have excluded those with natural immunity, which in turn, would have required Federal and Provincial governments to make provision for the determination of the immunity status of every citizen. This could yet be done (but won't be) by making available a T-Cell immunity test to all citizens.
As for those without immunity, they should have been divided into vulnerables and invulnerables. It would then have been possible to allow the latter group, including the vast majority of the population -- i.e., those under fifty without conditions predisposing to severe Covid illness, to lead a normal life and take their chances with the virus. Most, in time, would become infected asymptomatically or otherwise, thus acquiring robust and durable immunity, probably for life.
For the vulnerables, vaccines should have been made available as a freely chosen option and with a full understanding of the limitations of the immunity thus provided, the risks entailed and the need for perhaps endless boosters.
In addition, vulnerable individuals in voluntary self-isolation, should have been offered free home delivery service for food and medicine, while those of working age should have been granted the right to work from home where such an arrangement was feasible.
Instead we have a Fascistic and dim-witted state seeking to bully everyone into a potentially endless course of "vaccinations" and life restrictions. No wonder the People's Party of Canada, the only party to offer a common sense response to Covid, has popped in the latest Ekos poll to almost 12%, up from 1.6% in the last Federal election.
Evidently, Canadians in growing numbers see that Justin Trudeau's Liberal Party, the Conservative Party of Canada and the New Democratic Party -- the main contenders for power in the forthcoming election and all supporters of current government Covid policy -- are unworthy of office.
The problem for Canada is too many bureaucrats, academics and lame-brained journalists sucking at a government or corporate tit, ready always to relay any edict, however idiotic, criminal or insane, issued by the imbeciles and psychopaths at the top.
Faced thus by the serried ranks of bogus scholars, intellectuals and journalists, the multitude can do no other than follow the fake science, and submit to whatever monstrous plan the powers that be ordain. Hence Canada's ongoing Covid catastrophe. Likewise, the US and British Covid lunacy, and the lockdown tyranny of the lame-brained Australian and New Zealand governments intent on the phantom of zero Covid.
