At the Orpheum Theater in Memphis, Tennessee, it was officially announced that from now on the movie "Gone with the Wind" would be banned. Although until now, the same Orpheum Theater in Memphis has traditionally shown "Gone with the Wind" in August during the Film Classics days...for 34 years in a row. There won’t be a 35th season.

Which makes no sense whatsoever given the scientific evidence that this documentary sticks to. Of course we are appealing the action to the extent that we can and will take legal steps as well.

The video had over a Million and a half views prior to be taken down.

It didn’t even occur to me to use my print column space for the purpose, given all the ongoing current horrors. But since I have a bit of time before my 14-hour flight, I thought I’d take a few minutes to talk about what was supposed to happen after 9/11, but didn’t.

In the weeks and months after the atrocity, news media had a narrative about what it meant – basically, that it was a Pearl Harbor moment that brought America together with a new seriousness and resolve. This was comforting and reassuring. It was also totally false, literally from the first minutes.

But now, the poor dears, not content to be addressed in tones of respect by all and sundry, however many of their errors they may have buried, are bitching because the Federal Government says they must pay tax at the same rate as lower forms of life such as plumbers, bookkeepers and lawyers.

Thus, someone writing under the pseudonym of The Alarmist, wrote:

So we are to understand that exposing the reality of liberal-leftist bigotry, bullying and discrimination is proof that you’re “sombody’s shill”? What kind of bullshit argument is that?

Google knows almost everything about us, including the contents of our emails, our addresses, our voice samples (OK Google), our favorite stuff, and, sometimes, our sexual preferences. Google used to be on the verge of literally looking at the world with our own eyes through Google Glass, but this prospect appears to have been postponed, probably temporarily. However, the threat of manipulating public opinion through search engine algorithms has been discussed in the West for a long while, even to the point of becoming a central House of Cards plotline.
