60 years ago a out-of-work actor named Vaugn Meader put together a cheap record called "The First Family" with a few of his down at heels actor pals. To their amazement, the LP sold millions, was actually being hawked at truck stops and in newspaper stalls (I saw this).
They asked Meader how difficult doing the record was. He said the hardest part was keeping out the stuff that would be in bad taste or seen as too demeaning to the new president.
This, I thought, is probably the sort of thing old Vaugn meant to keep out. Except it occurs to me that 60 years ago, even as surrealism, nobody would have believed that exchange up there. Nobody in any real country.
Nice catch. One to ponder in the future. If there is a future.
"Make of it what you will..."

Thanks for that.
