Evidently a bright Christian business tried to get around GoFundMe by starting their own, "GiveSendGo" which I donated a few bucks to. Now The Washington Post is INTERROGATING some of the small time donors for giving, see twitter sample on page.
Okay they haven't gotten to me yet but they already proved a point I've been toying with since the lockdowns started: The governments are using the private sector to do a whole lot of dirty work these days. As a Libertarian-X (yes I had a party card once) this is the gloomiest development of the century. As Chuck Heston screamed at the Statue of Liberty - DAMN THEM ALL!
Bezos is surely happy to see WaPo aiding the insane megalomaniac Trudeau, in the expectation of favorable attention from the Government of Canada in matters relating to his business interests.
But there seems to be no separation between governments and major corporations anymore. We are nostalgic for the days when Harry Truman seized the steel industry. Okay, he lost that one. Point is Harry and the steel guys weren't in bed together.
Now the bed covers the world. We need to charge all big governments and big corporations with incest. They know they're guilty. If we put it like that, people would get it.x c
This development was predicted by Bill Clinton's history mentor, Georgetown University Professor, Carol Quigley, in his survey of modern history "Tragedy and Hope."
Quigley, recognized that the growth of global corporations would lead inevitably to the rise of global governance.
Quigley believed that global governance would be dominated by the banks. However, as John Kenneth Galbraith noted, by the 1960's, the great corporations were accumulating capital at a rate that made their continued growth independent of the banks.
Today we see the consequences. Government has always been subservient to wealth, and with the vast accumulation of corporate wealth, there can be no longer be a separation between government and corporate interests.
Our political leaders are mere actors.
Government's but a walking shadow, a poor player That struts and frets his hour upon the stage And then is heard no more: it is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.
The dimwitted egomaniacal actor, Justin Trudeau, like the clownish BoJo and the demented Biden, are ideal puppets mouthing whatever nonsense the deluded masses are required to believe in the service of the corporate interests, Big Pharma, Big Oil, Big Media, etc.
xymph posted something interesting about the donations this morning:

There is no separation between governments and major corporations anymore because the Money Power has taken over. Justin Trudeau and his Capo, Chrystia Freeland (the grand-daughter of a Nazi collaborator and advocate of genocide) are mere puppets.
